In this video we wrap up the return to stock transformation of our Polynesian Blue Metallic 1971 Honda CB450 K4. We reinstall the original carburetors along with a pair of reproduction air filters from Scrambler Cycle. We also convert the bike over to LED bulbs and make a diode sub-harness necessary for the indicators to function properly. We’ll take a look inside the original fuel tank using an USB inspection camera and a laptop. And finally we’ll fire it up and take a final walk around.

Wonderful CB 450. The other bike in your yard is another favorite- a TL 250! I had all of the early Hondas and I miss those times. Two of my best were both '71's. A CB 750 K1 in metallic brown and a '71 SL 350 in metallic blue. I'll bet you'll have that tank perfect soon , if you don't already. Have fun...

Thanks. The 60s-70s produced some amazing motorcycles. That TL250 is a ton of fun around the yard. I have zero skill when it comes to trials riding but it's still fun to pretend.

It's back on the road and running great. That blue is probably my favorite color from that period. I've decided that the dent in the tank is just something I'm going to live with. Part of the bike's story I suppose. Thanks for watching!

Yeah I know how you feel about the dent my 1973 cl350 got stolen and they completely made a mess of it. It went from having original side covers and paint to looking like trash. I have since put a lot of work into it making it a lot nicer.So I agree with you sometimes you got to live with those things. These bikes are so old they're going to have a little character

Nice bike, just started on my dads, only as far as removing the mouse nests and air filters. It's in rough shape and I'll be painting a lot of parts as the chrome is pretty destroyed but the aluminum should shine up nice. Plan on leaving it a bit rustic looking.

I have a mint NOS 1971 CB450 fuel tank in Polynesian Blue but it would be hard for me to part with it.

I spent a couple years trying to track one down. It seems like that wasn't a very common color. The way prices have gone up for tanks, seats, and side covers, I doubt I could afford to buy one even if I had found one.

Elongate the brackets.

Looks to me, he left out the boot extentions he took off. The flange under the boots. That would move the carbs back, and the filters would be good.
