Doesn’t matter if what’s in it is nice… I wouldn’t pay more than $12,000 for that car because the fact it’s got a Chevy motor in it.. idk if you guys just get them and flip them, but if I were you guys I would throw rocket racing 455’s in these.. my 71 cutlass s is getting a 950-1,000 horse 455 from rocket racing.. staying true to Oldsmobile and gonna shun every Chevy on the Northwest coast 😂💯🫡

Nice car, seems to have good performance and great looks, but this car is not a W30 and most likely is not even a 442. I know that this video is almost a year old and that the car has been sold to someone and I am sure that they are enjoying it. If they did pay $50,000 for it I hope they get years and years cruising with it because when they go to sell it there may be someone with some knowledge about what is and is not a real 442 W30 and they will not get $30,000 for it. This is not even a good clone of a W30. Just watching the video I can pick out several items that are not correct. 1) The body style: 442 was only available in the hard top coupe, also know as the holiday coupe, and the convertible. this car is neither of those styles. 2) Standard rear bumper from a Cutlass. The 442 had a bumper with cutouts for the duel exhaust with chrome trumpet tips. 3) Hood is an aftermarket fibre glass re-pop. you can tell from the uneven fabric in the outside air intake and also the underside of the hood. The true W30 hood is fibre glass bonded to metal. It is also referred to as the W25 OAI or OUTSIDE AIR INDUCTION and the surfaces are all very smooth. 4) All W30 cars come with red plastic inner fenders. 5) W30 only special engine parts. Even if you had blown up the original engine you would never discard the rare and valuble Winters aluminum air intake manifold or the ultra-rare "H" code cylinder heads. The manifold is worth almost $2,000. They are $1,000 in reproduction. The cylinder heads, if you can find them, command about $5,000 to $8,000 a pair depending on condition. This car is a Cutlass with a set of 442 and W30 badges on it. I own a real 71 442 W30 documented by GM as genuine and I have 2 broadcast sheets from the factory assembly line in Lansing, MI., the only Oldsmobile factory to produce W30 cars. If the VIN does not start with 344 or have an M as the 7th digit it is not a W30. There were only 920 true 442 W30 cars produced, 110 Convertibles and 810 Holiday Coupes. To see one is rare. To own one is amazing. The information is available to confirm the original and optional equipment to protect yourself. If the salesman's says the car is rare then make them prove it. That is part of their job. In the end it is buyer beware. Do you want to spend an extra $20,000 for badges that sell for $30.00 each in reproduction?
