All Glory to God, God Bless!
Today I am joined by my dad, Jim, and we discuss the ownership experience of a 1973 C3 Corvette with a 454 big block engine. We discuss what makes this particular Corvette so special to my Dad, and also go over the pros and cons of the car. We even take it out on the open road for a joyride.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to watch my video. I have a deep passion for cars, which I have carried through my life for as long as I can remember. I fully believe this passion was given to me by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, so that now through this channel, I can bring glory to His Name through every single video I produce.

I always liked the turbine style wheel covers on this era Corvette.

Hey, that was a cool video. Love the old un-restorred but cleaned up cars with history behind them. I'll bet your dad has a lot of fun improving it slowly in his garage. God really blessed us with Harley Earl 😁

Thanks for sharing about your Corvette. Glad to hear you are driving yours regularly, these cars are cruising machines!

The reason most people didn't go for the big block was that it only got you 25 more hp ( 250 for the L82 350 vs 275 for the 454) & added weight to the front end of the car which resulted in poorer handling

Enjoyed your video, you guys are awesome . You and your father are exactly how my son and grandson’s would be if I ever get a Corvette I’ve always wanted ! His excitement and how he talks about the bond with you and your family is how I expect it would be when I get mine. I’ve always wanted a of the C2’s a 63 split window couple, or 67 427 coupe. Of the C3’s I always listed after a 72 like you Dads but I’ve always liked the chrome front and rear bumpers. However I totally understand why he prefers the 1 year only bumper of his. Glory to God and continued blessings for your family. And your Dads Vette is a keeper !!!

Thanks for your very kind comment. My Dad and I have definitely had some fun with the Corvette together... I'm happy he is enjoying it and that he was able to cross buying one off his "to-do" list haha. I love the split window 63, one of the most beautiful American car designs in my opinion. I wish you the best of luck in finding your dream Corvette. Glory to God indeed! Blessings to you and your family as well!

Great video Love the story of the owner and the car. I bought a ' 75 L48 this year and learning the car at this moment in the netherlands. The recliner part is one of the things i have noted, when you get in youre modern car after a drive in the corvette. It is a very relaxing car to drive for me and love working on it with my son to improve it over time. Body is rough, but as in this story thats keep the mind at rest when you park somewhere busy. Have a lot of more fun and keep them on the road because they are beautiful relax machines.

Thanks for sharing your story. I totally agree; old Corvettes like these are great because you can spend all day cruising around and enjoying the drive, but you can also have fun with the engine as well. I hope you continue to enjoy your '75!

Glad I found your channel, I love your emphasis on faith and family! I owned a 73 454 Vette in the lates 70's but mine was a four speed. You may not have this problem with the automatic, but I strongly suggest that you look where the transverse leaf spring attaches to the differential. The lower mounting ears were not gusseted from the factory, mine sheared off causing the leaf spring to break in half. Kind of embarrassing as I pulled into a service station (something I did frequently) and the back of the car suddenly collapsed into a squat! I believe they soon offered the reinforced version but heads up just in case. My 454 was a real sluggard due to the compression, but bumping it up to 10:1 made a huge difference!!! Enjoy the experience!

I have a 73 L82. It has only 28K miles. I bought it in Nov 2023 from the original owner. Needs some work because it sat for over 20 years but its in great shape and the paint is near perfect. What a fun car to drive :) Best of luck to you with your 73 :) (just my opinion, go with Bilstein HD shocks, big improvement IMHO) God Bless :)

I have a white '76 Corvette, with a 350 engine and 350 automatic. It's not the original engine, and it has been rebuilt and upgraded in several areas. Still carbureted and still looks stock. It has the Buckskin interior. 1974-1977 are my favorite years for the C3 Corvette. Probably that's because I turned 16 in 1975, and those were the ones that were new then. I don't like any of them after 1977. I think they just totally ruined the body lines with that huge bubbleback window. I love the looks with the T tops removed, but I have found it just about impossible to drive with them removed. Air comes in over the top of the windshield and above the doors, winds up in the space behind the seats where it can't go any farther, and is forced back out by the incoming air. You wind up in the middle of a whirlwind of air coming from both the front and back. I'm glad to see you kept the stock 15" rally wheels with the RWL BF Goodrich Radial T/As. I've seen so many classic cars ruined with those huge 30" ghetto wheels with no tires on them. Another way to ruin a classic car is to put a computer engine in it. Nice car. Thanks for the video.
