My mother owned this model, same color and interior. You could land an airplane on the hood.

T Birds just kept getting bigger and bigger, almost an LTD. A good price on that one though.

This generation returned to sharing with Lincoln, in this case, the MkIV. It was the biggest bird, and the timing was interesting! Ford sold a record number of these 2 1/2 ton coupes in '73! Then OPEC and the oil companies got greedy.

Yep ....nice condition, except maybe some rust under the vinyl top...but by this stage of the game T-birds had moved past their earlier panache.

They had been cousins on and off to the Continenal and Lincoln since '61. In '72, the Tbird returned to the Lincoln platform (MkIV). The personal luxury coupe era was in full swing, replacing the muscle cars. Due to the poorly designed emmisions plumbing, hp had plummeted, so cubic inches were needed for the 2 1/2 pound coupe!! The public loved it!!! Today, well, it is a bargain pound for pound!!! How's that for tact??!!

What is interesting, RM Sotheby's, the auctioneer is very clear and subdued. Mecum has an upbeat chant, but still very clear about the bid.
