Old Mopar trucks are the most rare of the big three to find in the yards. So when I spot one it's a treat to check it out. I actually knew about this one for at least a month before it was finally put out in the yard for parts. I really wanted the grill as it was in nice shape. Well when they put it out, unfortunately the grill had been dented up. A Real shame as i could have made a pretty penny on it. I still enjoyed exploring it and found some pretty cool vintage parts as well as an old Woolworths oil can. Sitting since the late 90s, the cab had become a rodent motel. Under the hood was the a small block 318 that was pretty much all there. The only thing that was missing was from the truck was the transmission. The body was also in decent shape with not much rust aside from the cab floor. Hopefully quite a bit gets saved before this old pickup meets the crusher.

@@ClassicRideSociety Sometimes I revise a post right away when I find an error, so give it ten five minutes before you pin it. LOL. I'm throwing stuff at the monitor in anger. LOL. Let me try to redo it: That grille can be fixed by someone that's good at it. Standard Motor Products is still located at 37-18 Northern Blvd, Long Island City, NY. The red box (not the blue one in the cab) is for the regulator. That's still a valid SMP number today. The blue regulator box is from a "knock off" replacement that's trying to emulate an OEM part. Looks like the owner did some VIN decoding, but with the VIN, we win: D for 2WD conventional cab, 1 for 1/2 ton rated truck, 4 for standard cab, Sweptline, A for 6,000 # or less Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, E for 318 V8, 6 for 1976 model year, S for Warren Truck, Warren, MI and the rest is the production sequence. The Warren Truck facility opened in 1938, was known as Dodge City for years and still operates under Stellantis today. Carol Cable was located at 244-249 Roosevelt Ave in Pawtucket and there's a doctor's office there now. Pylon is still around, they were started in 1968 and are located in Deerfield Beach, FL. Longhorn Dodge was located 4500 South Freeway in Fort Worth, TX and today it's Tricolor Automotive, a used car dealer. You can make out that it was a new car dealer at one time. Yes, there would have been a label there, and it's possible code DT6486 Bright Tan exterior paint. No tag, can't brag. Whoa Nelley, so nice, I'll do it twice. That's it, time to quit. 1976 and hit the bricks. Going to be flat and that's that. Torqueflite is missing a bite. 3-1-8 used to be great. MOPAR not going very far. Going to get squished and all of the Pentastar faithful, UTG, maybe Benny, a few here but not really the Google Man are going to be pissed.

@Google User GP I had a state truck that was a Slant Six 3 speed and it probably had who knows how many miles when I obtained it. Manual steering and transmission and of course brakes. As long as you maintain them it's hard to destroy them.

What a shame. Its a cool old truck. Probably savable too. I could just imagine it painted red, driving in town...but as usual, the cool vehicles in junkyards get parted for other projects who probably wont get finished. My guessing is someone's (grand)parents owned it, passed away, the family membes didnt wanted it so they sold it to the junkyard for 50$...

Hey Benny that grill can still be saved there's people that can rework and Pop those dents. I've seen stainless steel and aluminum trim on antique cars where they can pop that stuff out but thanks for the video🇺🇲🏁🏁🏁😎🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

Almost looks similar to that one you had a nearly painful encounter with those nasty wasps a few years ago that took up residents in Benny. You were lucky to walk away from that truck without a trip to the emergency room or worse. 😅

I remember Woolworth,in it's final years in the Eighties here in Ohio. By then nobody really went to the Soda Fountain Booth anymore. Didn't recall that they'd sold motor oil. Some dollar store replaced it. D.E. Jones ,or something. It's now a sporting goods store that never seems busy either. I guess Dick's Sporting Goods in the Mall is taking the business now.

Yeah I know it's a shame at the yard sometimes will bust up their own inventory figured they would handle it with kid gloves especially since their money comes from parts off the vehicles that they have thought they kept it in good condition someone would want to buy it I mean I could understand if it came into the yard looking busted up but there's no sense in risking busting something up when heck sometimes you could probably sell the whole vehicle there's always old vehicle enthusiasts out do it by something that clean yeah I feel your pain you could have bought that and resold it or if you had a project truck like it you could have used it but I guess sometimes that's how the cookie crumbles I just wish that some of these yards but understand if you don't damage your profit annual make way more money but really appreciate your videos they're always awesome to see I love the long videos that you do as well of the yards that you visit I just never know where you're going to go next but keep up the videos Man happy getting some interesting info from them are so many cars out there and trucks and modifications that I haven't seen yet and whenever I watch your videos you introduced me to a world a cars and trucks that have yet to see.

That is a damn shame, so many more parts that these could sell if they wouldn’t beat this stuff up. Personally I love the Dodge trucks especially the late 60’s- early 70’s Sweptlines. I had an ‘84 Dodge automatic with a 360 and Dodge’s version of a posi, would smoke the tires for days but you could time it with a sundial.

Hey Benny! I spy a green "Kim Special" bronco in the background! Any chance we get a video on it??? Those Broncos are getting expensive! As for the D100, I'd still get the grille & dash, you can't find show-quality parts in a junkyard haha! And don't forget to save the vintage papers and cans! Good swap meet material there!

Wow! I had a 77 Adventurer pick-up. I would love to have that one. It's actually in a lot better shape than mine was. Mine didn't have a straight panel on it besides the hood and roof. A logging company owned it before me and they must've used it to pull stumps cause the bumpers were 'U' shaped. And every panel was caved in. Still a great truck.

You know back when I was in the salvage business I was the ford guy and I had a chevy buddy and a dodge buddy who always gave me hell about my 67 F100 you know the drill Junk that ford and get a dodge or get a chevy! So I decided to get all 3 and see how I liked them...got a 72 GMC 350 4V A/C, automatic truck fully loaded gold and white with pea green and white interior. And a 1973 D100 318 2v Fully loaded it was schoolbus yellow and white with white interior I think it was the prospector model? I can't recall been about 10 years, and the Ford was my 67 F100 352 2v automatic with the Ranger package. And to be honest I liked that worn out old Dodge more than the GMC it seemed to have a better ride..mind you it was a GMC and had the leaf spring rear suspension and not the coils.. ..only drawback with it at the time was absolutely no aftermarket support as far as sheet metal goes aside the floor pans...as for the Chevy and Ford you could get everything. I know the aftermarket is slowly growing for these old dodges and I hope they get the attention ford and Chevy get someday
