1976 Ford F-250 Ranger Highboy! RESCUED!

In Episode 39 of ‘Cars, Shops & Collections’ we visit Buffalo Larry who rescued a 1976 Ford F-250 Ranger Highboy!
Larry’s love of the '76 F-250 dates back to his childhood when his dad bought one shortly after he got out of the Navy in 1977. Larry discovered this Highboy in Pahrump, NV. In this episode you will see the recuse of this truck and the challenges that Larry faces in returning this classic to the road!

Hi boy is a divorced case with a Dana 44 low pinion and a 60 in the rear. Really wish they came with a 60 front, that would be the best truck ever

Great color. Ford, Lincoln, Mercury had that brown exterior color. Such a classy/classic look. We had a 1975 mercury marquis woodie station wagon. Brown with high back bench seats. Cadillac of all station wagons. Ah ..all the memories. Wouldn't want to go back. But; the memories are wonderful.

Had my 76 F-250 custom for 29 and half years bullet proof workhorse . Wish I could have kept it.

@@nickcox4343 I spoke to Larry... He said The tires are Milestar Patagonia 37X17. Wheels are Black Rhino 17"

Actually wasn't factory lift. It was a standard size F250 4x4 for the era. They sat 2.38 inches higher than the 77.5 to79. Theyvsat higher because they had a narrow frame and needed a divorce transfer case

I have an orange 1976 F250 High Boy. The body has a lot of rust but I like how it looks. I want learn about working on it. My husbands work friend has done some repairs on it.

I have always been told thay the divorced transfercase is part of why the term highboywas given these trucks

The frame rails were narrow. Needed the divorced case .

76 F250 4x4's came from Ford with a Dana 60 rear axle and a low pinion, ball joint Dana 44 front axle. Ford did not call them "Highboys"... that's a term that developed in the aftermarket.

yeah but a dana 60 front will plug right in so will a dana 70 rear.... idk about the rear being a 70 just by looking at it but that def looks to be a front 60

Id restored all but the outside i like the color and wore down look,,would of liked a 4 speed instead tho

SMH... Ford never called them Highboys. That's a term that came from the aftermarket. And no, those trucks came with Dana 60 rear axles and Dana 44 front axles. Come on guys.

It's not really a ranger package not like people from the '80s think. But but but but but it might have tilt-wheel!! push forward on the directional stick while gently trying to move the steering wheel upwards or downwards..

you trying to pull the tailgate handle up you should pull it sideways.
