6 1976 Ford Granada Car Commercials
The North American version of the Ford Granada is a range of sedans that was manufactured and marketed by Ford; two generations of the model line were sold from 1975 to 1982. Developed as the original successor for the Ford Maverick, the Granada shares its name with Ford of Europe's flagship sedan. The model line was marketed as a luxury compact vehicle, expanding the segment in the United States.[1]
The first generation of the Granada was a compact sedan,[2] slotted between the Maverick and the Torino (and the Fairmont and LTD II that replaced them) in the Ford sedan range. The second generation was a mid-size sedan, slotted beside the Fairmont and LTD. For the 1983 model year, the Granada underwent a mid-cycle revision, taking on the Ford LTD nameplate; the model line was ultimately replaced by the Ford Taurus for 1986.
In total, over two million examples of the Ford Granada were produced for the U.S. market.[3] The first generation was produced by Mahwah Assembly and Michigan Assembly with the second generation produced by Atlanta Assembly and Chicago Assembly.

You mean when minimum wage was $4 and under per hour? 🤔 hmm.

$4 wasn't bad at all, I've worked at $4.50/hr back in 1988 and that wasn't bad. If you work, you can get what you want but only within your budget. During the late 70"s, my Dad bought a Ford LTD and it was a cool car. It rode smooth on the rough dirt roads, we lived out in the countryside. Later on, he traded it in for a new Chevy Blazer K-10. That Blazer stood tall with big BF Goodrich off-road tires, not like the current so called Blazer.

@@fredmartine674 $4.50 an hour. What, were you a spine surgeon back then. 🤭 No, I remember being able to rent an actual 1 bedroom apartment, have my own car and afford having a girlfriend all on that wage. Boy, what happened to America. 😒 I'd still be proud to own one I those K model Blazers even today. 🤓👍

@@GeemailMailboxx During that time, I didn't have a gf so I was able to afford a car and pay rent lol. My Dad's Blazer was so nice, it was lifted already from the factory. I think the Blazer was a 1978. It was a two tone color of green and white with the white in the middle. It came with BF Goodrich tires on white spoke rims with the triangle holes. I wished he had kept it too. When I graduated from high school, he gave me his 1971 Chevy C-10 which he bought brand new in Denver, Colorado for $3000. I still have it but I'm in the process of restoring it. Every now and then, I get asked if I'm selling it. The truck has sentimental value to me so I just say it's not for sale, I could say more about what he bought too beside the C-10 but I'll let you guys comment again.

I remember some of these ads. I really enjoyed this. In our church there were two families with Granadas. One family had a sedan with all the options, except that for some reason they ordered it with stick shift. My dad had the opportunity to drive it once or twice, and he said that when you throw it up into 3rd you smash your knuckles against the dash, lol.

"Prices may never be this low again." Sure got that right. Not even when adjusted for inflation. The whole price is a down payment today.

The inflation adjusted price in today’s dollars is just over $20,000. You can buy a number of cars for less than that including a Toyota Corolla.

The Granada has 14-in wheels you can take a set of painted to match Mercedes hubcaps and put them on your Granada and they will actually install. Then install a Mercedes hood ornament on the Granada. On the trunk put the trunk star and some Mercedes numbers. 2.8 is a 280 the numbers that designate the size displacement in liters of the engine. Then install a pair of Mercedes safety bumpers on the Granada. It may even be possible to have a body shop professionally installed a Mercedes Grill on the front end of the Granada. Now that would be a site going down the road. It would fool girls
