Awesome bike, love it! My first Harley was a '79 Ironhead Sportster, I was riding the American Dream in Scotland and loved every minute I was on it! Tightening all the bits that shook themselves loose was all part of the experience lol!

Had a ‘75 back in early/mid 90s that was bulletproof. Worst problem was that goofy crossover shifter that you could not find neutral with, so I made it a jockey shift. Hardtail, four inches of front frame stretch with a 8 over front end that I did myself, rode and handled like a dream, better than stock. Miss that bike.

Had a 75 Ironhead. It pulled like a train and was a great backroad bike but it got literally smoking hot in stop and go traffic. Eventually the clutch would go away and all you could do was stop and let it cool down.

Mates Dad got one exactly like this 1976 Electric start 1000cc AMF.Becoming collectable now as AMF only around a few years. Could put a bigger tank on it a 15-16L tank maybe then again if you're only gana use it for shorter rides leave it.
