You are fos about ac not being a option I ordered and bought a new 1977 f250 delivered in Nov 1976 with factory ac. Btw I still own this truck
@markcole64752 жыл бұрын
I’ve got a factory 79 F350 4x4 ranger xlt standard cab long box that I’m working to make a daily driver…been sitting in a pole barn since 91 without an engine in it. The factory 400 blew up and was in the back of the box. I’ve since then installed a good used 460 and rebuilt the front diff with all new brakes, new proportioning valve etc etc. I still need to go through the rear brakes and have custom exhaust made cause 79 4x4 never came with a 460. About 10,000 79 f350 4x4 trucks were built but not sure how many with this trim package. It’s a c6 auto with factory 4.10 gears ….should be a fun truck to drive when done.
@carlm88212 жыл бұрын
One thing I can truly say about Ford, when it came to their top of the line vehicles, they didn’t hold back on the extra trim, moldings and brightwork. As you can clearly see here it didn’t stop with their trucks either! Thanks one sweet rig, Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for caring enough to call your truck what it is. Everybody throws the term ''Hi Boy" around rather carelessly, except for you:) A true Hi boy is a 76-77 F250 4x4 with a divorced transfer case. I see alot of bogus 79s and 72s that look good but are not correct. You have a beatiful example of what these trucks were engineered to be look like. I own a 79 F150 and a 79 F250 as well as a 76 F350 long chassis dumptruck and I look forward to finding a Hiboy for the collection. Thanks for the inspiration.

I had a 77 I put together. Was the XLT with air. Ford had 2 firewalls, a/c and no a/c. I wasn't going to run air and had to duplicate your truck. Did have a donor. Non air had vents in the kick panels. The non air heater was different too.

Nice truck to say the least. The only difference between a 1976 & a 1977 Ford Pickup was that on a ‘76, the F150,F250, ect emblems were on the lower part of the front fenders between the wheel well & the door. In ‘77 they just moved them up on the cowl like on this on. Good Day Everyone!
@warrenmcelroy47183 жыл бұрын

My brother had 77 GMC Sierra with a 350 what else it did have Air in it that Sierra was like new when he got it and he replaced the tires with 35 inch Micky Thompson that really made it look very bad ass it was great off roading but when you ran the Air on it you lost alot of power on the motor I remember!

Also amber turn signal lenses. 360 went to lunch at 31000, I found a 428 police interceptor in a 68 mercury Indiana state police cruiser, had it balanced, bored .030 with c6 and 4.10 gears 36.5 tires got 10-12 mpg. The perfect tow vehicle on road or off.

I never heard this silly Highboy term when these trucks were new, they were just 4x4 or four wheel drive , but tough pick ups never the less! I miss the simplicity of everything, much more affordable than today's space shuttles on the road.
@warrenmcelroy47183 жыл бұрын
That’s because the term didn’t have a reason to be used until after the 77.5, 78 and 79 trucks had come out that all had a lower riding suspension. Before then they were just F250 4x4’s.... what about the term “Hi Boy” is silly though? Does it bother you that much? Never bothered me, we’ve been calling them that since the late 70’s
