I just ran across this video and I had to watch it. And I hit the thumbs up. I have an '83 240 with a stick-shift and a total of 396,500 miles on it. Its odometer is still working. But the motor was overhauled at 197,800 miles in Fall 1991. The 300Ds I've learned were always far more difficult to rebuild in a way that the whole motor including the rings would hold up for another 200K+ and could no longer even be done. Since then, I've been avoiding the 300Ds unless it's a post '81, a Turbodiesel. Maybe this vid will help me to rethink that a little bit "Vito's Garage" is another KZfaq channel that I've watched. The host of that channel is also in Oak Harbor. And I gotten in touch with him a little bit, too. And I'm in Bremerton which is just within 3 hours away from Oak Harbor. And the 560SLs & 560SELs are also 2 of my favorite Benzes of all-time, as I also grew up thru the 1980s.
