What a special game to attend!!! I'd trade you Marshawn Lynch's Beastquake in Seattle for Rashad's Miracle catch game any day! That run by Lynch is considered one of the greatest playoff runs of All-Time too. I was there! And a long-time Hawks fan. But would swap you for Ahmad's game easily. Childhood memories tend to be much more special as I was 11 when the Miracle at the Met took place. Rashad was raised in Tacoma, WA where I grew up as well!

PS I was at Bo Jackson's greatest game at Seattle's Kingdome too! A Mt. Rushmore MNF game if there ever was one, considering the hype of Bo coming into it. Stats for Jackson that night: 221 yds 3 TDs including a 91 yd tunnel run! The only night greater than Bo's on MNF was from the Oilers Earl Campbell vs the Dolphins at the Houston Astrodome. A wild shootout that put "Luv ya blue" on the map!

I love these old football games. Im a Browns fan, and everytime i watch these 80s, and early 90s games, i remember Novemember cool days and when my brother and i would play outside our apartment building. We were one man football teams. We were the QB, the running back, and reciever....😂

I was watching Monday Night Football that night...Howard Cosell informed us that John was shot and later confirmed his death during the game. @@greasyflight6609 Agreed. My first (complete) game that I watched was SB 11, Raiders over the Vikes (I was 7 years old). But I don't remember watching Tarkenton play-only Kramer. I also remember thinking, 'why do the announcers keep referring to Fran Tarkenton when Tommy Kramer is doing such a great job?'...lol...and the more TK played, the better he got, and the more exciting it was to watch him and the Vikings. It's sucks that he didn't win a SB with them.

I am a bit older than you and do remember watching Fran...as a kid the Football Stars are what gets your attention. Chuck Foreman and the Purple People Eaters were boss. I got hooked on the NFL and really started to understand the game by the time the Dallas Cowboys beat the Denver Broncos 1977... Lyle Alzado... and the Denver Orange Crush defense. Dallas was awesome whether you like them or not. QB Roger Staubach was incredible...especially when rallying the offense late over the course of his career. Those were fun days. Who is going to win next week?

They recovered next week in CIN and with the experience gained playing on this skating rink came in handy next week when playing on Riverfront's rink with less dirt. There was one play Sipe does 5 step drop and bellyflopped which would have gone down as the first time a QB performed a successful "QB Slide Play Action" play😄. I don't think it came into play but the #NFL sure was keeping a close eye on tie-breakers after not letting the CLE defender run in the last XP block for the 1pt safety to close out this game😍

Sipe unfortunately was the victim ultimately of his own "gun-slinger" tendencies. He won them a bunch of "cardiac kid" games that year, but he also blew their playoff game against the Raiders that year by throwing an INT in the endzone. As an analyst at the time said... "He should have just thrown that ball out of the end zone into Lake Erie and given up on the play (Newsome was double covered and Sipe threw a very ill advised pass to him.

If game was played inside Browns Hail Mary defense would not have been slipping on frosty sod dirt. I believe Bryant earlier did a Met Stadium form tackle sliding 3 yards then meeting knee to head of Brown receiver (ouch). Same principle the Hogs used to win titles in WAS come December, just push the smaller quicker D who can't dig in downhill to glory😎

That's the way Met Stadium was set up. The Met was not built for Football and as a result due to the way the stadium was set up both teams shared the same sideline

Milwaukee county stadium was the same way. The home team and visitors shared the same sideline.

That was a quirk of the old Metropolitan Stadium--both teams were always on the same side, as I recall.

Joe Senser, TE. I remember watching this game from Cleveland when I was in high school....heartbreak city. Fortunately, the Browns won the following week against Cincinnati to win the Central Division. But, if you think this was heartbreak for Cleveland....then came the frozen Divisional Playoff against the Raiders when Cleveland was knocking on the door for the winning score.....and a Brian Sipe interception officially ended the run of the Cardiac Kids.
