Love this! Best car we ever owned. Bought it new in ‘81 and put almost 400,000 miles on it. Brought our second daughter home from the hospital when she was born in ‘83. Then it was her first car when she turned 16. I commuted to work in between those years in it 65 miles each way and it always got me there and back. In the 2008 financial meltdown I went broke. California offered cash to turn in old cars. Regrettably, I had to do that. I drove it to the wrecking yard and walked home broken hearted. It was almost in as good condition as the one in this video.

82 champ was my 1st car, handed down from my dad. We put 250,000 miles on it and drove it for 15 years before selling it for $250. Lol. I loved that car.

This was my first car!! If I had seen this video when it first came out I would have probably tried to get this!! Three years later and I'm sure it's long gone by now. Great little car and I made a lot of fun mementoes in mine before it pretty much broke in half from weakness due to the salt belt lol 👌🏻💙🤟🏻

Those cars were awesome. Fond memories of shifting from power to economy while reversing. I'd love mine back. Not to mention that the 80s were so much better than the 2020s.

Had one, rode like an Oldsmobile, quiet on the freeway. Close ratio 4 speed, shift to high range over 45mph. Had the 2.0 ltr, bought the kid 1.6 (didn't want him to have a fast car).

That was my first new car! Mine was a Black '82 DL 5 doors model with the 1.6L and twinstick. I loved that car, always got a chuckle from my friends when I shifted gears in reverse! My sister inherited it from me, we put over 135,000 miles on it in total before I got it back from her and traded it in for the next version, a silver '88 DL Turbo. Both were fun to drive and surprisingly quick / nice handling for the time

This was my first new car. I drove it from Minnesota to Florida on my honeymoon. I got 46 miles per gallon with the car fully loaded with camping gear. Silver with red racing stripes on the side.

Was the second owner of a gold colored one, bought back in 1984, with 50k on it. It was a great car, excellent on gas: 45mpg out of the 1.4 liter. Had it for 15 years, and racked 200k more miles.

Fond memories of my first car, the Plymouth Champ. I bought mine off my former boss for about $400.00. It was smashed in the back, so my father and I Bondo'ed the back end. Put a Plexiglas window in the back and added Chevy Citation taillights for the back since I couldn't find replacements. Mine was a custom 2 tone paint job. The front of the car was the original wine red color. The back half was a primer red color. I still miss that car. The car you guys are selling looks like a real nice example. If only it was an automatic I would definitely buy it. Yes I do drive a stick shift in some of my other cars (Porsche Speedster, Mr2 Spyder), but I prefer an automatic in it since my Champ had an automatic in it as well. Nostalgic reasons. I loved that car. A lot of crazy stories to tell. A lot of fun adventures and fun misadventures with always a cool story to tell with the "Champ".

My first car was a 1981 Dodge Colt which was the twin of this car. The original key had a Mitsubishi brand on it and I had the manual with power/economy stick like this one. Great first car and cost me a whopping $500 back in 1989. Thanks for the memories and someone could have fun with this car.

I had an 82, no split shifter, no FM radio, but a great car for less than $5K new. , New Hampshire to Ft. Lauderdale and back on just $75 gas. Ran forever never broke down, just change the oil and off you go, Sold it to my friend with 250K on it, he put another 200K on it before it burned to the ground one afternoon on the highway.

The commercial little jingle back in the day had twangy traditional Japanese music. 🎼Take the Mitsubishi bridge To your Dodge deeeelerrr 🎵 It showed a little animated car, a pagoda and an ancient style Japanese bridge.
