A 1982 Honda CM450e gets prepped for a 4 day rally. A group of friends invent a competition to buy an older motorcycle to compete in the Mega Engduro Rally (MER). This is the story of one competitor.

This is exactly exactly what I want from a build video. Sick of all the time lapses on KZfaq. I can’t watch them. Just a personal preference, I love to hear the thought process and explanations. Amazing video. Great build.

Really enjoyed your video. Sold my bikes but am kinda missing them. Like the idea of 80"s Hondas. Thank you for an uncomplicated video, bike looks great.

Just got myself a 79 Cm 400t with 10,000 original miles. Doing something similar over the winter and hopefully riding it by spring

Excellent, what kind of shape? Do you have plans to mod it? Glad you enjoyed the video. Thx.

@@paulgrunsell2579 82 honda CM450 Custom*. This is actually going to be my first bike, I'm sure I'll do some mods in the future but I'll probably make sure everything is in good working order first. Then I'll most likely do some minor modifications, replace the seat, restore the paint and what not.

Great video! I'm trying to get my CM450A going but can't seem to find carbs to replace the ones I ruined through incompetence lol. But the automatic transmission is pretty great for learning on and getting a license (which my dad and bro wanna do), so hopefully I can get the beast rolling again. Your video got me excited again though, thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the video! Best of luck with your CM450A (automatic) and inspiring some new riders.

@@paulgrunsell2579 thanks! I may have found a set of carbs on ebay today for a good price, so things are looking good!

I just found your channel. Amazing work. I have a 79 CM400T that I bought from my neighbor for $500. Everything is intact and unmolested. It has less than 1,400 original miles on it. A real barn find. I'm not a fan of the cruiser style. So your work is an inspiration for me. What handlebars did you use? I'm gonna have a boatload of questions and I'll be taking notes.

I am also trying to rebuild one of these, where did you find your side covers for the battery and electronics?

Love it! Where did you get that seat? It looks great. The whole bike is well done! I was leaning towards doing a intruder 800 tracker myself but these Honda are making me second guess!

Watch at about the 5:50 mark. I used the original pan but shaped it to my liking. Then used a local upholsterer to finish it off.

@@paulgrunsell2579I love the cafe style seat…. I know you didn’t film the part where you shaped the seat pan, could you explain how you did it? Is another video possible to discuss how to do that, since cafe racer seats are hugely popular nowadays!!!! Did you just hammer the hump down by eye or more complexity involved in precisely shaking the metal? Thanks so much and keep the videos coming!

Hey there! How do I get a manual? Also- Rather than just a parking break on the handle.. is it possible to have the left side parking break converted to an extra hand break for the rear tire? And anyone have the CM450(A) duel speed semi automatic? How did you find the shift up to second at 50mph with out a clutch? Little jerky in some situations? Im a new rider
@paulgrunsell25792 жыл бұрын
I used eBay to find a manual. Not sure about the A version and shifting.
