Man, I just let mine go, I donated it to public television. I've had it 20-years. The previous owner had it 10-years before me. Still ran like a dream with nothing more than oil changes, tires, and breaks through the years. They did something RIGHT with this model.

I had one just like that in 1984, loved it, they had some cam issues that year, the lobes chiped off, you'll here should it happens

I had a 1980 XS850 LH that looked almost exactly like this. On one hand it was the most beautiful piece of craftsmanship you would ever lay eyes on (or have the joy of riding). The sad reality was that if you put anything on it that wasn't black chrome or gold it would look like garbage. I only did a few modification due to the unavailability of those items. Ended up selling it in 83.

I actually just picked up a 1983 virago midnight and am just curious how much you got for yours or if you held onto it.

I have the exact same bike but the seats don't have the patterns in them. When I found it the magneto was burnt and it was sitting for quite some time in a garage so the gas needs to be replaced. So it basically won't start just cause of that. Buddy sold it to me for 200 and now I just gotta get it fixed :P
