I built a homemade manometer using demos I found online. I am trying to sync the carbs on my yamaha virago xv500 and believe I am having some problems. I recently completely rebuilt/cleaned the dual carbs and have heard they should by syncronized. I am having some trouble doing it. Any advice would be appreciated.

In my case, I change the jets (main and slow one) but that was, because, I put some custom pipes, in your case it could just be a clogged main or slow jet

Are your rubber o rings for your intakes newish or old and dried out?

I finally fixed mine....muffler bearings were too tight.

Ah the Virago....the most finicky of all bikes. I know, I've been married to one for years! How does she perform on the road? If their are no hiccups, there is no need for divorce.

I think you're trying too hard looks like about 1 inch of water gauge difference at idle. Spec for my Virago says max allowable is 0.39 in mercury. 0.39 mercury is about 5 inches water. Looks like you are in spec to me. (1 Inch mercury =13.6in water)

FYI... I filled with Amsoil Dominator 2 Cycle Oil (not water). Thank you for input though!
