Dude this was my first car. I got it when I turned 16 in 1988. Holy smokes. What a car. Can’t believe there are any left

Ditto. My first "good" car. Damn it handled well. Never let me down mechanically. I still feel bad about selling it.

I live in a nice gated community here in South Florida. I've driven the same 2000 Camry since October 99 but I never feel self-conscious amongst all the much newer and more modern cars because I do have a neighbor two streets over in my subdivision who owns both a 1985 Accord LX sedan and a 85 Camry LE sedan. Both look like they rolled out of the showroom a week ago. The Accord is a two tone Gray / darker gray in the Camry is a two-tone maroon / gold. The Accord has just under 50K on the odometer and the Camry just a little more than 50K. The owner worked at a local Toyota dealership and was able to snatch both cars up from they're geriatric first owners. It's funny to see the two cars side by side. They still have similar personalities to their much newer successors. The Camry is a bit more refined more geared towards the driver and passengers Comfort while the Accord is a more quirky/ driver oriented vehicle. The interior of the Accord feels like the stuck together pods are somewhat of an afterthought while the Camry has cup holders! LOL sing the two of them together you can picture them as being competitive friends rather than rivals. Every time he takes one of them to the supermarket or the gas station he inevitably gets cornered by curious people wanting to know more about the history of the cars. I don't think anyone would really care much if he were driving a tempo or Corsica from that era. More likely people would be curious because they've never seen or heard of a Ford Tempo or Chevy Corsica. Enjoyed your review!

Excellent and reliable.... bought a used one in 1998 for 750$....car was flawless having 120.000 miles on it....had it 6 years and beyond an oil change or tune up it never broke down. Shoulda kept it!!!!😭

Another awesome video! The quiet competence of Hondas back then is something I wish they still had.

I like the rather sprace LX trim of the '84 Accord. The Blue/White combo is a welcome change from the rather commonplace, Black/White or Tan/White afterthoughts when it comes to a basic/everyday White exterior.

My dad had a couple of these back in the 90's when I was a kid. I mostly remember he was having troubles with the carburetor and fuel pumps always going out. But good cars other wise. There's a nice one on craigslist I might go check out.

Thanks for making this video. 35 years later and virtually nothing other than AutoWeek (as a new model), it goes to show that Honda has made a great car, as I remember entirely too well, and a very young kid.

Hi, Thank you for sharing a great video. I bought a 1983 ? Accord back in 1992. A friend found it in a used car lot. Not sure of exact year but it was between 83 to 85. Honda changed head lamps I think in 1986 and body shape of Accord. It had a very smooth ride. Not sure if AC worked but it did have cruise control Roof had some fading of paint. I ran a yellow stop light and got hit in driver side front quarter panel door hinge. I wound up junking the car. Master brake cylinder gave me some issues. Gas milage was pretty good. Honda makes very nice dependable cars. Thank you Honda :)

This is when cars began to look alike in a square way just like later cars looked alike in a round way. Unfortunately the look-alkie trend continues with suv's.

I have this exact car, albeit in much, much worse condition, but mine was made in Ohio and it is actually the most reliable car I have ever seen. No seriously they don't die and it's super comfy and smooth.
