I actually sold this car in the Spring of 2014, but I completely forgot that I recorded this video, so here it is...

For 1985 This Honda Accord is ahead of it time for the 80’s. As always most Honda/Acura’s usually are.

Love it. I'd pop new rubber seal and trunk on. clean carpet, glove box easy fix and it'd be mint. Beautiful car. Had an 84.

This the identical car I made my dad buy when I was 18. $10,400. He put 88,000 miles on it in 2 years. Not one issue with it.

My father had one just like it. Mother sold it in '98. That was the last I ever saw of any 81-85 accord in the state of Illinois. It's too bad the survival rate is so low

I used to have one of these in highschool. It was my first car. Mine was automatic. Too bad it rusted out due to the salt of a few winters.

For some reason, the front of this car reminds me of a DeLorean, and believe it or not, the DeLorean is my dream car!

Look up a 1982 - 1983 Datsun 200sx. They look even more Delorean like from the front. Thats why I own two ;)

+Cyota Corolla I looked up some pictures of the Datsun 200sx, and sure enough. But I'm just saying that the front end of the '85 Accord also looks like the one on a DeLorean in my opinion.

The motor that is in there is not a CVCC, they were discontinued in early '82. It just has 2 intake valves and 1 exhaust valve per cylinder. Cvcc technically only had 8 valves per cylinder, but there was a third auxiliary valve that would open to allow the combustion to escape the pre-ignition chamber. The easiest way to describe compound vortex controlled combustion is to say: There is a pre-ignition chamber which is filled with a very rich air-fuel mixture, whereas the cylinder is filled with a very lean air fuel mixture. The spark plug goes into the pre-ignition chamber, and a valve is opened by the camshaft whenever the explosion is ready to expand into the cylinder. There seems to be a lot of confusion about what motors are and aren't CVCC motors. The easiest way to check if you have CVCC is to pull a sparkplug and stick a camera (with a flashlight on it) into the spark plug hole. If you see a flat piece of metal with a hole going in it, you are looking at a CVCC pre-ignition chamber. If you see the cylinder wall, or a pistol, then your motor does not use compound vortex controlled combustion.

But is this a good car to buy?
@emmaccode
@emmaccode 2 жыл бұрын
@@mirzaumer3467 Hondas are pretty much always good cars to buy, just haggle depending on the mileage and such. I wouldn't pay much over 2k for one of these unless it has less than say 80k, then it's kinda more a collector car anyway. The early 2,000's 7th Gen d17-A civics blew head gaskets, that is just about the only real issue to be aware of. I actually had one of those with 240,000 miles, never did anything but brakes oil and tires so take that with a grain of salt lol

You must be a classic 80s car person judging by your profile pick of the GREATEST Toyota Celica they ever made, the notorious 85 and an 85 GTS convertible at that. My family owned 1 85 Honda Accord and 1 85 Celica GTS convertible. Kudos to you.
