That’s a honey of a 300TD. Since it came from the West Coast, it’s obvious that it wasn’t on the beach, where salt air would have attacked it. And this car didn’t spend a lot of time in the sun, because that red would have been bleached out. Love your attention to detail during the inspection. Looking forward to future updates.

I forgot those cars had brake pressure accumulators. I remember they also use those in BMWs and Volkswagens from around that era as well and they can be super difficult to find if you ever need to replace them. I believe they can also be rebuilt or serviced. At least that’s what I’ve been told.

These cars do not have brake pressure accumulators the accumulators are for the rear hydraulic suspension

Beautiful car I still wish they made the turbo diesels available with a stick here in the states like they did overseas! Sadly, we only got the naturally aspirated diesel engines here in the states that were available with the optional 4-speed manual.

what guide rod mounts do you use and do you change the inner part as well? I'm debating doing mine while I do the front-end but I've seen people complain about the "silver" vs. "gold" ones and so on.... figured I'd ask the master ;)

Lemforder brand. They are the OE suppliers for Mercedes and are made in Europe.

@@woodsandbarclay is there something to be done about the internal piece or does that usually clean up pretty well?
@woodsandbarclay3 ай бұрын
@@benfischer6601 there is no "internal piece". The guide rod mount/joint is a pre-assembled unit that you just install. Go to the website and watch the next video on this car and you will see it being installed.

Also try the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center in Germany. Daimler-Benz owns this and the one in Long Beach, California. You will get safe & reliable parts. No scams at those places. Quality OEM parts are not inexpensive.
