Very nice, low mile (33,974) 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. I love the style and feel of these cars. They look like classic Nascar.

Yeah! I loved filming it. They are very cool for sure. Including this one, I also saw a pristine 87 Monte Carlo SS with a bench seat up front. Very unusual.

I really like the Monte Carlo SS I like the styling very much, my younger sister had a mettalic blue one with the steel rally wheels it was a 1984 duel exhaust, all the options I drove it a bunch of times it was a lot of fun...Frank m

my 88-SS is very similar, have 'street-modified' a few things, cleaned house under the hood, shift-kit, real dual exhaust, hookers, 750 quadrajet from 84 Impala, real distributor, 180 HP factory/220 tork to 240 HP/280 tork. 'line-lock-love'

One of GM's few bright spots during the 1980s....Not a tire shredder performance-wise, but quick for its time, and certainly becoming more appreciated and collectible. I'm seeing more and more of these G-body cars being restored and hot rodded.

I am too, and I am glad. Not a fan of GM cars today, but the late 80's, through the 90's, they had pretty good stuff. Their build quality seemed pretty good, and, despite a huge amount of badge engineering, they had pretty good offerings. And, you knew where the different lines stood. This Monte was an excellent example and I was glad for the chance!

Unfortunately I’m at the mercy of the dealerships and while some do let me drive them, some do not. This particular one did not let me drive them, or I would have. It’s all in where I go.

semi auto I honestly do not remember what my source was for performance. I think it was MotorWeek, but I could be wrong. It was actually pretty difficult to find any good info on these cars, for some reason.

Neighborhood Car Reviews motorweek had a test with an SS but car didn’t have posi traction, just one wheel spinning in back no traction.
