There IS quite a bit of controversy around this card and other cards in this era. Unfortunately the controversy is really just a hype. People are seeing inflated prices on Ebay and they are trying to capitalize on it. This card and others in this time era (approx '86-'93) were so mass produced that they really don't bring in much value. In addition quality control was awful. Misaligned printing, offecentering, blank backs, print specks, fading color, damaged... etc was prevalent in these cards. The hype you are seeing on Ebay is just that. I love this card, but the things you are describing hurt the value, not help. Don't take my word for it, look at the "sold" listing on Ebay, not the asking price. I can ask $1 million for a miscut card, it doesn't mean it's worth that. Sorry for the long reply. I get these type of questions frequently. Hope this helps.

Thanks for commenting! Saying a junk wax cards like this having "multiple errors" is a common practice for ebay sellers. It is dishonest. First off, as I show in this video, the 3 and the 0 are cut off on ALL his cards. And the smudges, dots etc... are print flaws and take away from the value. I can pull out just about any junk wax card and find flaws. Be cautious about what people call "error" cards on ebay. Your card is worth about $3-$5 depending on condition.

Interesting. The offcentering is unfortunate, as it was pretty commonplace with that era. I have never heard of any blurring in that set. I looked at this card on ebay. Hello! I'm not aware of a known issue with Bo's card. If it's a "one of a kind" then it's a print flaw and, frankly, worthless. If it's a mass produced variation... then maybe a little value. Thnx for dropping the comment.

Nah. Printing flaws ( double printing, dust specs, off center, wrongbacks, print lines etc) are really common with these years due to over-production. There are ridiculous ebay listings for these "errors" but they are NOT uncommon or valuable.

This set is notorious for blank backs. A couple bucks maybe. If you search for blank backs on ebay you'll see many. Thnx.

Hi buddy. These cards were soooo mass produced, they aren't really worth anything. Fun to collect, but not easy to make money on. Check Ebay sold listings for specific values. Thnx.

Personally I'd just hang on to it. The resell will go up. Or rip it for fun.

Nothing that interesting I'm afraid. Its a song called "Smells Like Grunge". It's a royalty free song I downloaded from www.audionautix.com. That way I won't get flagged for using copyrighted material. Are you dissapointed?

@@Hungryman97sCollectibles hah probably a good idea these days. People copyright claim videos with like 5 secs secs of a song in it..by accident. Check out that song sometime ,it's pretty close

@@Hungryman97sCollectibles on the back in the stats the 73 and 74 lines are real close together almost overlapping. I think it was corrected but I haven't found a corrected version and I have a few of them.

Sounds cool! At a time when cards were overproduced we see tons of quality control issues. This would just be a misprint. But certainly one worth hanging on to. It's hard to attach a value. There may be a demand for it considering who it is.

I'm assuming you mean his 87 Topps gold cup card #620. No, not any errors I'm aware of. Don't be mislead by silly ebay listings. It's a 2 dollar card.

Hey that's pretty cool! You have a wrongback. Pretty common for this set. As the cards were so over produced, lots of mistakes happened. Normally these go for a buck or two. But since you have Bonds on the front, I'm sure you could get 5-10 for it. Not great money but I'd hang on to it if I were you. Thnx for commenting.

Thanks for the comment. This is a frequent question. First, the DOB. This was an uncorrected error adding no extra value. The missing dot is so common it also doesn't add value despite being a confirmed variation. It is a $1 card despite what those ebay sellers are asking.

Hey man. I love to hear about card anomalies. And it certainly sounds like you have an anomaly. No I haven't heard of it. Not sure about a value, as printing anomalies don't really fetch a premium. You can search eBay for sold listings to see if there's others out there, but I have a feeling you won't find anything like yours.

@@mattmoney5244 flaws don't usually help or take away getting the value of the card condition is good. However collecting "purists" won't usually want it. You might be able to find sold listings on ebay to give you some idea. That's where I'd start. Just don't expect much.

Wife has one. Looking at it now. Her mom bought it for her 25 years ago never touched it since lol

I had to look that one up. He didn't play in 67 due to injury and illness.

This card stirs up a lot of feelings because some debate whether there are errors on it. Beckett, PSA and (I think) Tcdb don't recognize any variations/errors with this card. As a fan of Bonds, I'm interested in the errors (or VARs) you mentioned and I will check them out. Thanks!

Good callout! I wasn't aware of it. I read your comment and found several of those "ink smear" error. 4 out of about 20 of my Bond Rc's had it. Thanks for pointing it out.

These cards are not really error cards. They are not anymore valuable at all.

In regards to the Bonds, my card on the front name the Y on Barry has yellow in it. Have you seen this before?

I assume you're taking about Bonds. Never heard of it. I put an Opeechee scan in the video but it didn't have a cut off 3. I'll research it.

But prints flaws take away from the value, they don't help it. Being a "on of a kind" is why you won't see info on it online. There is a market for these types of cards, but normally buyers aren't paying extra for spots and streaks. If you feel you may something valuable you can throw it on eBay and see what it does. But sometimes it's just a good idea to keep it in your collection.

Those are called wrongbacks. Very common in Topps in the late 80's. With that said those two are a couple of dandys! There isn't any book value associated with them but in reality they are valuable. I sugggest looking for oddities like these in the sold listings on Ebay. I couldn't find any for the McGwire. But holy cow, the Bonds had one that sold for $100 and another for $235! It'd be nice if there was more examples of sold listings but the one listed look promising for you. Thanks.

Topps had a real hard time with mixing up the backs. What you have is a wrongback and, unfortunately. Was very common for 87 as well as 88. Cool card though! I'd hang on to it.

I figured it wasn’t worth anything. Picked it up at a card show a few years back

I've never seen a Bonds black back yet. However, I'm not terribly surprised. Topps put a lot of blank backs in the late 80's. I bet you could make some money off that one!

I only show confirmed errors and variations. If the error isn't mass produced, then I won't show it. I don't waste my viewers time with specks, spots, miscuts... etc. And hey, I like PSA, but grading companies are not the authority in the hobby for errors and variations. Thanks for the comment.
