This filter goes under the PCV valve and can cause oil leakage problems if clogged. I have since put in a new one.

Thank you! The 5th Ave. has been good but I needed to put a new starter in and I took it to a brake shop and got some brake problems fixed. I took the intake manifold off of the Savoy but I still haven't made more progress on it. Our Retro Electronics 360 Dodge truck ended up with coolant pouring straight into the crankcase and it got taken to a repair shop so hopefully the problem they find with it will give me more insight into the Savoy's problem.

I was able to get my screen out without taking the valve cover off. I took a long narrow screw and threaded into the screen just far enough and was just able to pull it out.

I actually went ahead and ordered a new grommet and PCV valve just to be sure they'd be good and put the new grommet in.

I was able to use a pair of needle nose pliers and bend the tabs up so I could grab hold of it with the pliers.

Yea those PCV grommets gradually open wider making a loose fit.

Leave it to Ford to turn what is usually a two minute task into a two hour task. This has to be one of the dumbest setups I've ever seen for something that needs replacement on a regular basis.

oh, is the grommet still pliable? its supposed to be soft. if it feels more like rock than rubber, it should be replaced as well. The one I pulled out of my Mark VII was so hard I was able to stand on it without it deforming. Then it shattered. Rubber is not supposed to shatter.

My car would flash oil pressure and charge when I turned the key, but when I cranked it over would not say anything after when idling. Do you know why that could be?
