Who knew that television commercials would be the key to nostalgia. Even when you watch the old movies they don't capture the real essence of the past like television commercials do because the commercials actually show what it was like to live back then. Showed what we ate and what life was like. And when I watch it reminds me of some of the things I had

The thing I miss the most about commercials from back then were the lack of drug commercials. You didn't have to hear the phrase, "Talk to your doctor about prescription..." I had no idea back then how nice it was until now. I'm glad I don't watch TV today anymore.

I hate watching TV now. Isn't it ironic that we long and watch commercials that are put on here because we can't stand commercials today, that's where we are literally at. 😂

‘89....rolling covert at night in my friend’s Mercedes she ‘borrowed’ from her brother, who only got to use it when he was home from school....nobody was old enuff to legally drive but hey, open that moon roof, let ur giant hair blow, and cruise w the radio up🥰 Nobody caused any drama or went to jail...just taking a late night cruise-and dropping me at home b4 my parents knew I was gone😂 Now there’d be a frikkin Amber Alert and the car would deactivate itself😂 The world has ^not^ improved with tech and helicopter parents.

It was because of a report that it lowered cholesterol. EVERYONE was jumping on the oatmeal bandwagon at that time- I believe it was also around that same time that eggs were suddenly bad for you, because they raised cholesterol.

Big Macs are gone too, now they are Mcdouble patties with extra large buns and prepackaged lettuce and sauce. Nothing is freshly made anymore. If you want real disgust, look up the vintage taco bell commercials. It makes me so sad to see where they are now. I'll never eat at one of those places ever again, nor a McDonald's

I fondly recall these commercials in Denver, Colorado in 1988 and '89. The west and midwest was rife with them... The lighting, showcase, theatrics, music and entertainment were warmer back then than nowadays. I wish I could return to that bygone era. So heartfelt and nostalgic!

1989 was a bad year starting in March. Later I spent 4 months in the jail of the Caribbean island I was on, getting out the day Hurricane Hugo hit as a cat 5 with over 200mph winds. Go for 3 months without electricity and jury-rigged water supplies hording what pitiful little you can get. I left the island after helping it somewhat recover in Jan 1990 after growing up there.

I just can't believe they actually expected post popping, near molten plastic casing to be opened with their bare hands, I think I remember people complaining about that, getting burned by that much more often than any other brand's pre packaged popcorn packet, at least Orville had the courtesy to take the same idea, protect peoples hands with the paper, and make the opening action the top of the back and leaves your hands much more clear and able to avoid the worst of the post popping heat
