My Dad had this exact model & exterior color; I’m not sure about the interior. He bought it brand new in 1992. It had been a Shuttle Car for the 1990 Buick Open. It sat at the Dealership after being refinished at the factory so it could be sold as new. But there was a change in the law in MI that year which forced GM to List and sell them as Used. It had about 4,000 miles on it when my Dad bought it in like Jan. or Feb. of ‘92. He didn’t have it very long though. He had to take to the ditch to avoid hitting a dog and Ins. totaled it after discovering the frame was bent downward flexing the entire body and jamming the doors on the passenger side of the vehicle. It had about 8K on it then. You couldn’t tell there was any flexing or bending to look at it. Only when you went to open the rear door, passenger side and it would stick. Our local frame shop was sure they could fix it but GM wanted the car destroyed so they wouldn’t have to ever worry about any lawsuit. My Dad loved that car. But he had an ‘83 Pk. Ave. that he also bought new, an ‘87 Ford F350 Motorhome and an ‘89 F150 w/Club Cab that he also bought new. So he didn’t really need it.

This is a car that deserves to survive. I hope someone buys it.

The back seat had to have been a "delete option" at no charge. I had an 85 Caprice woody wagon with nearly 300k on it. I got it from my neighbor. It rusted so badly that the front shock rusted off and no longer connected to the car!

These have the automatic seat belts. You are should post to keep it buckled in and when you open the door 🚪 you can slide out without unbuckling it.

These wagons & the Roadmaster Wagons are Saturated in Southampton Long island. The Wealthy bought these up & Literally used as Estate Wagons.

There is so much potential in this vehicle. Once the cosmetic inside and out are corrected, this is indeed a winner. You have to see the potential. Thank you for sharing.

We never had wagons with a 3rd row. 1) they were never comfortable and 2) you got a lot of useful underfloor storage. Of course back in the day, kids just jumped over the second seat to play in the cargo area - and we all survived somehow.

DIG the Patina on this old gal! I'd put new whitetails on, do mechanical needs and ENJOY her as-is! I had an '87 LeSabre Wagon, bought from Original Owner in Chicago, it had some rust of course, but was a NICE Cruiser and attracted more attention than my Grand National sometimes! LOL!

The real wood panel rotted on the right side...did you get a tree trunk replacement...lol

Anthony, Mark Williams here. I bought the Buick wagon last summer. What you have there is a Buick Estate Wagon, not a LeSabre, not an Electra. 1989 was the last year for the Electra Estate Wagon. Have put a lot of love into mine with much more to go. Looking forward to a season full of Cars and Coffee weekends around here! Regards to you and Papa Bear.

Carpet is clean but dirty..lol I loved that....just a good honest get from a to b family car. Turn signal cancel cam needs to be replaced.

These cars in 1990 with the Olds 307 was the last year GM used the Quadra jet Carburetor.

Had a gray 86 Electra Estate Wagon. Woodgrain delete. Had the chrome Buick road wheels, luggage rack w/integrated rear air deflector, hd trailer tow package. Sharp looking wagon with the gray paint & chrome. The maroon cloth interior really set it off

FABULOUS MACHINE ! I convinced my brother to buy one in 93, he fell asleep in it one night a totaled it... Just too comfy for him 😂

Anthony, my grandfather had a 1974 Caprice Estate with the rear seat delete and the floor opened just as the floor on yours. If it had seats the floor opened left and right. So im sure thats how it came from the factory. BTW good solid wagon!

I had a 89 mercury marquise wagon pretty much all bells and whistles but no back 3rd row seating .. and I figured it would have had it cause I did have 4 kids at the time .. but not all wagons came with .. but growing up that’s all we had were wagons .. and lived the way back seats .. on the ford country squire wagon my dad had … 67-70 each year he hit a wagon with third row seating !!!

My friends mother when I was younger had a light blue one with the wood trim and her older father had it all taken off and painted light blue all over but it was a cool car non the less.

This car could have been ordered as a removal wagon by a Funeral Home, thus no third seats. Years ago we ran Mercury wagons for removals. Now we run Dodge Minivans. The wagons were great to drive but the vans are a heck of a lot more practical. Love your older Lincolns & Cadillacs.

The 1990 model was known as the Buick Estate Wagon. The sensor on the top is for the Twilight Sentinel or Automatic Headlights.

The 1990 model they called it the Estate Wagon because they were phasing the name Electra out. For whatever reason they chose to 80-84 Electra header panel only and they had the 80-84 Electra Limited seats only and put LeSabre Custom door panels in the interior even with leather and full dual 6 way with power recliners. Some didn’t have the third row. Some caprice and Parisienne didn’t even have carpet in the rear area period.

Buick used to sell this model in two trim lines - the LeSabre (and LeSabre Estate) Wagon and the Electra Estate Wagon. They were dimensionally and mechanically identical (though the LeSabre and Electra sedans had different wheelbases). The LeSabre used the front fascia and grille from the LeSabre sedan which was less fancy than that of the Electra sedan and wagon. There were trim differences, too, like seat fabrics, door panels, and option availability like passenger power seat, etc. I think the Electra had extra brushed chrome trim on the B and C panels. I'd have to check my Buick catalogs but I think they made them all Estate Wagons around 1988, dropping the LeSabre from the wagon lineup. This is a nice one here with cornering lamps and front fender lamp monitors (what is left of the driver side monitor). Those front monitors were only available on the Buick and Oldsmobile versions of these sedans and wagons. Chevy and Pontiac did not offer them. Out of all the B-body wagons from this era, the Electra was the nicest. It offered upgraded cloth upholstery or leather. I don't think any of the other divisions (Chevy, Olds or Pontiac) offered leather in the wagons. It was rare in the sedans whereas tons of Ford Panthers came with leather.

I believe these were available as either 6 or 9 passenger. The 6 passenger may have been a delete option, not sure. Honestly, if this were my car, I would use it just as it is. It would make a great car to take to Hershey and put in the Driver Participation Class.

I’ve come across a few police and fire wagons from that era without 3rd row; most were stripped Chevy versions, but none the less factory so I’m assuming that yours being close to end of that body style they were using what they had left and yours is factory too

It’s just a trim level (Electra, lesabre and estate) the top line ones had like 50 different Crome pieces and brightwork, others not so much

The LeSabre wagon was a lower trim while the Electra wagon was the upper trim. For 1990 the two trim levels were combined into simply the Estate Wagon.

I believe the lower end model Lesabre estate had the cloth door panels on the inside while the higher end electra estate had the fake wood interior door panels.

Weather striping, bumper fillers, and seatbelts on doors. No wonder you didn't want to fix it up, too much to do. Junk yard material in my Buick feelings. My 85 Buick Riv was a show stopper when sold July 2021 in comparison.
