M103 is plenty adequate for the 126, It can still cruise at over 100 mph. all day.

automatic just has so many rpms over 70 mph :(

@@Heve62 true but 103 can handle high revs for hours on end . The beauty of Mercedes OHC motors..

The gear ratio is too high. 3000 RPM at 65 MPH is to high.
