I BEEN OUT HUNTING TO BUY ONE FOR EVER , some losers exaggerate the prices though. I will find my baby though! Especially the 22re Engine is a dream machine! My dad bought his DATSUN 200SX after the 1st owner in 1988 ,I was born in 94 and we still own it ,5 speed Manual ,NEVER HAD AN ISSUE only a dead 🔋 battery, I became a mechanic in high-school (CCOC) learned electrical ,brakes, engine and transmission. Then got a job at Toyota where I took my Datsun and replaced everything with new Gaskets, plugs radiator etc. It has 345k miles ❤❤

Such an amazing car, Toyota in the 90's had such great build quality. Hope it lasts even longer!

I just bought my grandpas old 89’ pickup , it’s going to need a new engine and since it lost compression but I have about 8k to put into it and remodel it , do you think it will be a good idea? I’m 19 but I want to be smart with my money and I hear great things about these 22 re , also what maintenance do I do in order to keep it the best shape possible , also what fuel is best for these ?

@@user-ez6md3og6f You're older than me my friend, hahaha. I've just done the standard stuff, keeping fluids full, not driving like a retard, replacing things that need replacing, etc. You do want to watch out for rust, that's primarily what I'm trying to tackle right now. I always fill mine up with medium-grade gas, it probably doesn't matter THAT much.

I had the same truck. Except mine was the burgundy red color. I miss that truck. It was the best. But I had a kid and needed a back seat.

@@lukemarks92I bought a $120 kit and no issues so far. I run green but Toyota says red. I would still run green because it’s easier to get and the 22r engines been around for a long time before colors came out.

@@kaosalone3748 I have the original manual for my 94. Says green coolant. That was from back in the day. So I use prestone green. Change every 30k miles. No biggie.

@@Miles-wy1zr I have mine too, I said red because I had multiple websites tell me it was red even though it was running green. Toyota must have been switching over in the 90s
