@@TheJds1993that’s because back then folks really had a reason to praise. They realized they needed Jesus. Nowadays folks ain’t worried bout Jesus as long as their lives are going good. Nowadays folks don’t realize they STILL need a savior. Folks back then did and they went through a lot! The Holy Spirit was in the house! I wish I could just go back in time so I could sit shoulder to shoulder and have real church. I have a good church home though where my daddy is the pastor. True doctrine. We’re small but we have real church ❤

I grew up with services like this. The anointing was thick to the point where the preacher didn't have to preach. The Holy Spirit would take over.

AMEN! I was a young church usher in a COGIC church and believe me, I took the job very very seriously and loved it. We were thoroughly trained,saved , sanctified and anointed for the job.

The praising doesn't seem fake or forced....no heads full of wigs and weaves...no super long lashes...no men in tight suits...no men in skinny leg pants.... I hope that's not being too judgemental. Lord please forgive me if I'm wrong. The praise feels sincere.

Well I saw a lot of instructions given before the praise breaks just like today (lift your hands, turn around jump three times touch you neighbor. And as far as the suits at that time men weren’t wearing the skinny suits at that time because it wasn’t the style. Even the funny men wore baggy suits, and the whole dress down thing started in the mid to late 90s so that’s why there’s a difference

I can remember a little bitty Pentecostal church that the mothers would come in early and and be go around to each chair and pray and cry over it. When you needed prayer you could ask one of these women to lay hands on you- and pray for you. When the mother for you you FELT something. My mother was one of these precious saints. I remember kids would tell my mother they were going to have a test or look for a job or had a headache they would take my mother’s hand and put it on their heads. Also they would tell my mother their prayers got answered. I’m sorry but this just doesn’t happen so much anymore. Churches aren’t ‘prayed out’ anymore. Most folks don’t even know what that means. I do.

I am reading the comments and thinking, most of the people are talking about the way church used to be. WE (as in the people commenting) are the church now. Where is your power? Praise breaks are my favorite part of church. These clips are the old school way. Sadly we dint have church like this no more every thing is for the next 30 seconds" or "we gotta move on ."

Or look at brother or sister so and so like it's Soul Train. I want someone to look at me and experience salvation and deliverance and not just my moves. I don't claim to have the best dance but when I think of the goodness of Jesus, I move like I feel it and it's never the same. I thank God for salvation and delivering me so many times..
