Thanks for posting, Nascar needs to get back to the shorter tracks and ditch many of the mile and a half tracks. Knocking all the body panels off and keep running is what made Nascar Great. These guys were all different characters not the cookie cutter noobs the series has now. Most of these guys paid their dues.

The Tracy Leslie spin at 24:05 would today be a caution for at least ten laps..... Same with the smoke fromTodd Bodine at 24:20 ..... You see television rules NASCAR, the more caution flags the more commercials they can fit in therefore they make more money. This is why we see caution flags for minimal contact to spins. .....Just sayin...

I don't remember this race. My dad doesn't either. He loved watching late 80s early 90s Nascar both Busch and Winston Cup Series and doesn't recall seeing this race. He thought night racing didn't start getting popularized until after "One Hot Night".

Night racing on superspeedways became popularized after One Hot Night. However they ran Nashville at night in the 70's and then they moved the second Bristol race to Saturday night in 1978. That second date was never a sell out until that night in 1978. That race was run in July for years, and it was too hot for most people to attend. They tried to move the race to November in 1975 and it was too cold. Then the race settled into August, and after two more years of racing in the hot Sunday afternoons, they moved the race to Saturday night. Lots of experts tried to tell them that was a step backwards, but it worked.

I love this era. I forget, were they running 6 cylinders during this time? Sounds like it but the speeds were making me question if they still were.

Fascinating to see Earnhardt so off in this race! His car was not even close to capable to winning

This is back when the Busch series was talentless idiots + Cup drivers, and then mix in 3 good drivers.
