From the folks who brought you the Kalashnikov and IZH motorcycle! What is their not to love? And you got him a BMW and not one of these? ;-) I would go through my Russian bikes, but, uh, most came from you...see you in the spring if at all possible!

A great looking ex USSR car love the color a very bright green i like all cars from the Soviet times the Lada and Moskvitch but more into Moskvitch had both and i loved them and used to go of road with mine Moskvitch no 1 and Lada no 2 but lada Niva is the best 4x4 only one problem why is the fuel tank not in the boot less chance of rust and rotten just like lada in the boot

All Soviet Union vehicles had to be completely taken apart, all parts inspected and repaired if necessary, and then properly reassembled. Factory management was made up of communist party members and not by people that had any knowledge of the vehicles the factory was building. The result was exceptional bad quality. Once reassembled properly Soviet Union vehicles were actually very reliable and simple to service and repair. I have a Dnepr MT-11 Sidecar Motorcycle that was imported in 1992. The person that ordered it couldn't work on it and no one would work on it for him. It ended up sitting in his barn 27 years. That's when I got it. I took it completely apart and fixed everything. It's actually a good reliable motorcycle I really enjoy driving and do so a lot. It's parked outside the cafe I'm sitting in right now.
