Man oh man, do i remember Handsome Harry going for 5 in a row, and falling just a few laps short, as he lost his brakes near the end of the race. I was there, along with my wife and two boys, we had permanent seats on the frontstretch, and we were all heartbroken when North Wilkesboro closed, it was a great place.

I was over sea's serving in the marines, Thank you for putting this on great race, great time to watch races, once again Thank you.

Well, while we know how unfortunate it was to see Handsome Harry's streak end, here's some positives about September of '91: In Winston Cup, he of course has 4 wins in a row and a second place finish. This calculates to an average of finish of 1.2 over five races. Along with one pole, he has an average start of 8.2. In the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division (BGN), Harry grabs a pole at Darlington and follows that up with two wins in a row at Richmond and Dover, for an average finish of 3rd. And, when he goes to the next race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, he wins there too, to have a 3-race win streak in BGN competition. Between both series, he has 8 starts, 6 wins, 2 Poles, 7 Top-5's and 8 Top-10's, with an outrageously impressive average finish of 1.875 in the month of September, 1991.

Even forgetting his previous 4 Winston Cup wins (and three Busch Grand National wins on the trot at the same time thrown in for good measure), the way Harry Gant drove and basically dominated, he deserved to win this race. Not saying that Dale Earnhardt didn't deserve the win because he drove as hard as anyone and his team worked as hard as anyone for the win. But for an O Ring in the brakes, Gant had them covered this day.

Thanks for the race and been looking forward to this race.

Anyone know why Harry won 4 in a row Andy Petree the # 33s crew chief was the first to find a way to successfully use camber in the rear-end by rounding the hub end of the axel shaft compensating for the lose of rear tire staggering due to the fact that there was no stagger in the new radial tires that NASCAR had mandated

I honestly don’t remember if Handsome Harry won 4 or 5 in a row. ANYONE that WATCHES THIS SHOULD WATCH 1991. GOODYS 500 FIRST! Oooh, I DO remember the ANTICIPATION of this race and watching race at the bar on a Sunday in a packed pub that ordinarily would be watching PACKER football.

Got a question SMIFF TV: I typed in 1992 Budweiser 500 (Dover Race) and nothing poped up... I know that it probably takes a little while to find these races but do you think this one could be next? My favorite season is 1992 and I watch that specific season from a playlist.. ( Old School Nascar Network) Same thing goes for the 1992 Busch Clash (If Possible).
