My Honda CBR would run but if you touch the throttle it would die. I pulled the carbs and I'm going to soak the jets and clean up the carbs a bit. I come across some clogged slow speed jets and a misaligned choke slide.

warning !!!!!!!! the jets are not all the same the two center ones run richer to help cool the cylinders do not mix them up or at least make sure the bigger jets are in cylinder 2 and 3.

This is the first I've heard of it and the manual makes no mention of it, are you sure someone didn't rejet two of your carbs??

@@Gkitchens1 I bought an aftermarket jet kit for my F2 and the jet sizes were different for two of the carbs. They were not the stock jet sizes included in the aftermarket jet kit.

This is cleaning of fuel chambers only. There is lots more to do. Choke, pilot screws, rubber membranes, slides and more. Float level is not adjustable in this model. One thing less to sorry about. Waiting for part 2.

Muriatic/hydrochloric acid (aka brick acid) is superb for carb cleaning. It cannot harm brass but can dissolve aluminium castings so experiment with diluted acid.

Super helpful video dude. Quick question though, did you have any issues soaking the float needle? I've read that the little rubber tip can get messed up soaking in carb cleaners.

No issues jus yet. I've heard that also but mainly when it comes to using carb cleaner itself. I haven't had any issues when using the chem dip.

Should NOT soak the needles....although the wimpy 'new' Berryman's probably isn't corrosive enough to hurt them. Still, why take chances? You can see if the needle needs attention just by looking.

Do you mean the boots are giving you grief? If so I’ve always carefully heated them with a heat gun, but have also seen people soak them in hot water to make them more flexible.

Are the boots all tight and in good condition. It may be an intake leak.

If I may also still answer, if the carb is setup fine, check if it sparks normal. A weakspark will not ignite the fuelmixture on high revs. And the second thing to check is the valves, it needs correct timing. And ofcourse cilinders needs correct compression.
