Since most everyone knows I'm a huge fan of these older GM luxury sedans (being I just purchased a 1995 buick roadmaster limited) I always try to film these as well as other B and D bodies whenever I get the chance, to try and preserve these legendary american sedans through video for everyones enjoyment :) In this video I give a full in depth review of the 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

These Fleetwoods, along with the other B-bodies and Town Cars were the last great American sedans. Smooth, comfortable, spacious, quiet. And now they're pretty much considered classic cars.

It's Known. Cadillacs were never B bodys, B bodys were used for the upper pontiacs, oldsmobiles and smaller buicks until 1958, when it became used also by chevrolets and pontiacs. Cadillacs, upper level buicks and olds were C bodys. In 1985 GM donsized it's c bodys making them FWD, the Big Cadillac fleetwood brougham became a D body until it's demise in 1996.

Back when Cadillac still meant luxury. These cars had space; you could fit 4 people in the back. Know it's all bucket seats, no space...look like sports cars. This is a fucking real luxury sedan.

Kyle, you forgot to mention that this was the quietest car ever tested by Motor Trend magazine. Another thing. You mentioned that the steering doesn't allow you to feel the road. In a luxury car, you should NEVER feel the road through the steering wheel. That is the German definition of a luxury car. We want AMERICAN luxury cars.

I love American cars but never seen any of these here and the cost to import one is a bit expensive not to mention that there doesn't seem to be many around anymore ! hope that cash for clunkers scheme didn't kill all the nice American cars of yesterday as when old cars are gone they are gone for good. In college, I worked at a residential condominium where the residents all had luxury cars, several of the residents even owning their own limousines. Of all the cars I drove, I always wanted this model, as I knew that it could be the one luxury car that might be financially attainable for me decades later. I was very disappointed when it was discontinued, and now, three decades later, I don’t care for the look of any Cadillac models. I’ll just keep my money.

This is such a far cry from the original Fleetwoods of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Those cars had a presence with great style features and classiness. This car was a dinosaur even when it was new hence why they didn't last for long. The previous 80-92 Fleetwood brougham cars were higher quality and much better looking.
@TeeroyHammermill
@TeeroyHammermill 8 жыл бұрын
+AMCNorthstar 93 They used better materials for the interior but most of those 80's models had pathetic engines.
@starxlr7863
@starxlr7863 8 жыл бұрын
dstarks80 The materials used on the interior all through the years are the same and very good quality. Just these 93-96 was a bad body style that just took a dive and to me the worst looking Fleetwood. That includes the Deville 94-99 and also the Roadmaster and Caprice, just unproportioned round boats that have no value. The 80-92 Fleetwood Broughams were much better looking and real classic Cadillac's. Sure the engine might be better but not the car.
@TeeroyHammermill
@TeeroyHammermill 8 жыл бұрын
+AMCNorthstar 93 Having owned 2 Broughams and still own a 93 Fleetwood, I disagree about the quality of the interiors being the same. The Fleetwoods of 93-96 dashboard will crack and the leather seats will tear before the Brougham seats will. The Fleetwoods plastic door bezels will get brittle and the door lock buttons will break off. The Fleetwoods window regulators will break causing the windows to not work properly. I also disagree about these cars having no value. The 93-96 Fleetwoods are more desired among collectors than old Broughams and demand greater prices.
@starxlr7863
@starxlr7863 8 жыл бұрын
dstarks80 Ok well you are entitled to your opinion but I do think the older 80-92 Fleetwoods are better in many ways. I really do not like the body style for 93-96 at all and never did. The engine might be better but thats it. I see a lot of them for sale and they dont bring much at all and take longer to sell then the older ones. I blame that mostly to the body style. But it mostly depends who the buyer is, whether they want a nice classic or a nice beater car and the newer 93-96 is a great big beater car or more a round boat.

Here in Russia 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood with 125.000 miles cost ~$10.000. I almost bought it, but then I remembered that for this price I can get a ten years old Mercedes-Benz S class. Sure I bought it, but now it's time to save up money for second AMERICAN car :) (to be honest I'm torn between 1993 fleetwood and 2002 town car II and I don't know which is better).

I owned a 1988 Lincoln Mark VII LSC which was an excellent car. It shared the high powered 5 litre engine with the Mustang and many parts were fairly easy to come by. The odd part isn't so easy but they can still be found. Surprisingly good on gas for what it is and a car that can be fairly easily worked on. You can change a suspension air bag in less than half hour with a flathead screwdriver. For some reason many owners have the air suspension removed on Lincolns. My particular car is quite hard to come by but it's one I'd own again if I could find the one I wanted in mint shape. Look it up; it's about the best looking and most powerful car of this class and era you could hope to own, aside from the LT1 Brougham of course. The 87 and on LSC had a great interior and options too. Careful with it in wintery Russia though; you wouldn't want to go rolling it like I did!

Saw your review of the 1973 Fleetwood Brougham. Man!! What a difference between the 2!! The '73 was much more elegant, luxurious, posh and oozed Cadillac mystique. This model, well, looks like an upscale Olds or Buick. This was when G M was blending their lines, and the distinctness of their product suffered. Like other things in life, they just don't make 'em the way they used to, even in 1994.

Thank you for the complement. Here lexus don't sell to much. But engines bigger than 2.0 are also limited by super high taxes: here there is sold the lancia thema (euro version of chrysler 300): the price is 76500$, pays 38000$ in tax, because it is considered a large engine (3000 V6 diesel). We have a 23% direct tax + a CO2 tax + a engine size tax.

Nice evaluation of one of the more attractive body styles of Cadillac's Fleetwood models. While it may lack the ultra-sophistication of Mercedes and other European brands in the area of refinement, i.e. alcantara headliners, higher quality materials, real veneer wood, less plastics; Cadillac still gave a lot of style. Unfortunately refinement means more expense which the 'bean-counters' seem to avoid in the name of making more profit. I still admire the American luxury cars such as this perhaps out of loyalty, wishing that the quality would be a bit better. Have to say the Cadillac C 6 has been hailed as a much more refined car, but the paradox is that its cost is way out of my league. Thanks for your video!

Actually, they care, the most sold luxury cars here (Portugal) are the BMW 5 series and the Mercedes E class, and more than 90% have the smaller diesel (2.1l, 2.0l). They cost 80000$. The vast majority of mercedes S classes and BMW 7 series also came with the smaller diesel (3.0l) and they cost 135000$. Here is very very rare to find a gasoline luxury car (they represent less then 1% of luxury car sales)

Definitely a more worthy and dignified example of the Cadillac name, than the attempt made a decade later. Even nowadays it could be used as a safe and comfortable long distance driver, for example, as a designated carpool vehicle among buddies, specially after replacing the stock engine with a Cummins 4BT or a Mercedes 3.0 or 3.5L in-line 6 cyl. turbodiesel.

26mpg with a 5.7 liter v8, 4 speed auto with up to a 7000 lb tow rating? Your lucky to find a full size sedan doing 30mpg with a 2.0 turbo 4. This is impressive tech.

5 people clearly don't know about this great American craftsmanship. I wish they still made cars like these, comfortable, actually fit 5-6 normal sized people, and actually had an engine with some power behind it

Congrats on your success.. That's a first time I've heard something different in your videos...your opinion.. Thanks. I know it's a long shot, been waiting 2 years, but do you think you can review some more Olds and possibly the Mazda MPVs. You haven't done one yet
