I specifically remember waiting at the tram stop on the way into Friday practice for the 1994 Australian GP. I could hear the 3.5lt Ferrari V12 clear as day.....was 12kms away! The atmosphere that befell the curcuit when the F1 cars was on track was otherworldly...in fact it befell the whole city...

Yep, my home town. I could hear it from my house. The street party's were great and you could walk out of the track and into Rundle Street. Adelaide is sadly underfunded.

I know the feeling. I used to live 5 km from circuit Zolder. When the wind was coming from the right direction I could hear the racecars at home. And could hear the differences in engines. Like a Porsche cupcar or BMW M3 were very recognisable. Hearing those F1's must have been some experience. 😁

@@Belgian-Motorsport my dad worked for Honda. The 80s were still pretty lax with the #6 race car put on display at the then Claridge Honda dealership. I have a photo of me sitting in it. Imagine that happening in today's world.

The hole at the back of the engine cover was there to reduce power, the FIA had imposed it judging these 1994 F1s too fast and dangerous (following the accidents of that year)

Yeah. I think it was around 850 or 860 hp @ 15,800 rpm, which is to date the most powerful naturally-aspirated V12 engine in F1 history. The V10s later surpassed this power slightly by about 100 hp, albeit through a smaller engine displacement, but with higher revs.

I never liked the V8's, 2.4l too small, the V10 and V12 the best. Ferrari 90 - 94 the best sounds ever.

So this cars still drive, are those engines rebuilt? Since I heard F1 engines are good for only few races. How many 412 T1s exist?

There are a few companies who keep these F1's running. The ones in this video are maintained by Modena Motorsport. I beleive they made 8 of these cars in period. Don't know how many remain.
