A look at the 1995 Audi S6 Avant and what it is like to buy one in 2020. (This was a "rough draft" first take video that I had intended to reshoot and edit. Unfortunately, time constraints didn't allow for that to happen and the car had to leave so this was all I had on hand. Still kicking myself for not at least doing another take I could have edited in but it is what it is.).
SO, my apologies for the rather raw footage here. Never really intended for this to be "public" but it was requested that I share it for the upcoming July 2021 BaT auction of this car.

I have an opportunity to pick one of these up, trying to coordinate a time to go see it. Super happy to have found this video!

I own this cars distant cousin, a 2004 Passat that is very rare. Mine is the 1.8T Turbocharged 4 cylinder with 4MOTION all wheel drive paired the 5 speed manual transmission, the only Passat more rare than the drivetrain set up in mine is the W8 6 speed with the wagon variant W8 6 speed being the hardest to come by. My brother had an Audi 90 Quattro, of course with the manual trans, so driving my car and his you can feel how closely they are related, the S6 C4 is essentially a bigger 90. My brothers 90 was a 1988 with the 10 Valve engine. We miss his car terribly but do still get a similar feel with mine. We don't get to hear that blissful 5 cylinder though nor do I have the locking rear diff his 90 had. Hopefully we'll be purchasing a Ur S6 fairly soon. Fun fact, I love taking my car on dirt roads or in the snow, there's nothing like Torsen donuts with ESP turned off specifically on ice. And yes I still like to have fun with my car, it's completely stock with the 15 inch alloy BBS wheels and has 114K miles, everything has been replaced including a new timing belt and head gasket, still only 170 horsepower. Nice review, thank you. Just thought I'd share my experience and joy with the Audi/VW B3 and B5 platforms.

I was actually selling Volkswagens back in 2003 and remember driving a W8 Wagon that was on the lot. I thought it was pretty cool but it wasn't nearly as hot in terms of demand as the VW Golf TDI manual or the Westfalia. I recall fielding calls from all over the U.S. when we happened to have those on the lot. Also, I may not talk about it on the channel but I remain a fan of the 1.8T. They were great little engines with lots of potential and could be very reliable. Just change the dang oil so you don't sludge up the oil pickup tubes. ;-) Thanks for your comment!

Great video man! I've owned two avants and two UrS6 sedans. Currently own this car's twin but platinum interior.

thanks for the very interesting video. I also own the same car and gained some knowledge thanks to the video. It's always good to see when urs4-s6 videos come in because there aren't that many. respect and continue in the same spirit

Thanks for the comment Silvar. Glad you liked it. My only regret is that this was a very rough draft of the video. The car unfortunately left me before I could do a re-shoot with editing. Watch for much more content coming in the spring and summer months.

Such a rare car! I love wagons and would love to drive one, although I’d be concerned about reliability and parts availability.

Well, if you buy one that's been loved, maintained and driven regularly they can be quite reliable. Most of the major maintenance related parts are still available. It gets tricky when looking for trim and some other model specific bits like bumpers/front fenders/etc.
