Timelapse of ~6 weeks of work on my 1995 Audi S6 Avant. Headgasket failed at 160k miles due to a crumbling thermostat housing, so since the head had to come off I decided do the upgrade I've always wanted: RS2 Spec.
The RS2 was never sold in North America, but represents the ultimate street version of the legendary 5 cylinder turbo. I also installed a Wagner Tuning manifold which outflows even the RS2 manifold, RS2 injector replicas, a tune from EFI Express, and a 1.9 bar wastegate spring. I outsourced the headwork and had new valve guides, valves seals installed, the valves were back cut for more flow, and the head surfaces was decked (121mm measured through bolt holes, 118 is minimum), along with newly machined valve seats. The turbocharger was disassembled and Cerakoted (link: • How to Rebuild a Turbo... ) , as was the intake manifold and exhaust manifold. Power was 230hp stock, but I am now at roughly 360-380hp; EFI Express claims 300hp/300ftlbs at the wheels. Love it!!

Software: call Marc and tell him what you're running and he'll be able to get you an appropriate tune. I'm also using their stainless steel fuel inserts on the intake manifold.
