I got a 94 Pontiac Grand Am SE that completely went dead no start no dash lights even putting jumper cables did nothing. I looked at the battery and both cables were fine tight with no corrosion on the terminals and i just got a new battery the week before so knew that was good. I thought it over for a day and decided to try out an idea and hunt down every ground wire bolted to the frame i took them all off sanded them as well as sanded the body itself to make sure the bolt had good contact. The hunch paid off and it started right up but was an interesting problem.

Did you have to disconnect the negative battery cable first?

I have a 95 pontiac grand am and have had the starter, battery and alternator replaced as well as the spark plugs yet the same issues keeps happening where it will just randomly decide to not turn on if i have driven it alot that day. it always starts worrking again when i get it to a mechanic so theh cant seem to find the issue. but i was wondering if anyone else has run into a similar problem and could point me in the right direction to start looking

I also wanted to add that the dash lights and head lights still turn on just the engine won't turn when it does this

@@oliviasandoval5331 Oh you poor thing. Who is working on your car? It is hard to find someone who knows what they are doing. It cost a lot of money to keep replacing parts that are not bad. It doesn't take much to put more into an old car like that than it is worth. Abiezz has a video you can check out. Let me know if this helps. it's going to be something electrical battery is easy to check to see if it is good not going to be spark plugs. Anymaybe relay. Type in random no start.
