-4.10 gears
-Vortex intake
-exotic muscle Longtube Headers

Retired in '17, started searching for an LT4 that wasn't beat up. Found one w/50k in Florida. Flew down and bought it,drove 850 miles home. What a fun car to drive. Long legged rascal.

I did the same in 2010 when I flew to Albany New York to get my C4 in a rare color for that year with 37k on it & a 6 speed what an Amazing experience driving back home to Michigan, great car and a fun drive😁.

With the exception of the downshifting. In my country, he wouldn't pass the driving test. Shifting to neutral while in motion is considered bad driving. I hoped for some heel-toe action xD

@@mikecronis lmao are you stupid, it’s so under rated. There is a reason why I can buy a C4 for less then 10k, because it’s underrated. The C-4 Corvette bridged the gap between the C-5 and the C3 body style. It’s the perfect balance between the rough/aggressive edges of the C2 and C3 Corvette along with the wide/low stance of the C-5 and later models. Get your uneducated ass out of here you uncooked human.

@@HioSSilver1999 when the new LS1 came out my lt4 would put 3 to 4 car lengths on them the LS6 the car would run neck-to-neck you put a tune coilover suspension and when I Road Race my car I keep up with brand new Corvettes Porsches Camaros Z28 and even a McLaren these cars are so underrated it is crazy they handled like they're on Rails when they're stock they just need wider Wheels remember the C form held the speed record of 254 miles per hour for the longest time

I've had a lot of performance cars over the years, but my 1996 Collector Edition LT4 always brings a smile to my face when I think about it. I built it into a 388 stroker with a complete hand rework on the heads. After all was said and done, and managing to find someone who could tune with LT edit, it put down 415 hp at the wheels. Not overwhelming by today's standards, but with it's relative light weight it was a blast to drive. I also went to a single mass fly wheel, which added a whole other interesting element.

@@mikejohnson699 Your ignorance is almost as bad as your grammar. This is a 1996 LT4 Corvette. The LT5 DOHC motor was NOT available in 96. This Motor is a PUSH ROD, ALUMINUM HEAD V8 offered in 96 only manual transmission Corvettes. You may want to keep you thumbs off your Johnson and learn how to read, research and STFU.

Agreed. The 94-96 C4's are quick....they run the quarter in the mid to low 13s "stock." Getting to, say, 115 mph is 13 seconds, is moving on, even by today's standards. I also like the F-16 styling of the interior. Great sounding engines too. There's a lot to appreciate about these stylish Corvettes.

All 6-speed 96 corvettes had the LT4 regardless of trim package. It’s a healthy motor and responds well to mods.

@@brybrycrivello anything really. These ZR1's don't get enough love. Walk arounds, interior over view. More driving like that. If you track it as well. Don't try to hard. Just let them flow into the camera.

C_DOES it’s not a ZR1 it’s an LT4 which is only features in 1996 corvettes with 6 speeds, aside from a few special edition camaro and firebirds in 1997. I’ll post more when I get time. Thanks for the Like!

@@maximumhardcore4362 Yea, but I can rev my 5.0 5 speed Mustang GT to 6,250 rpm (rev limiter in 2nd and barely clear 65. It only has 3.73s in the rear.

It's old, but it's still a Corvette. Later C4's are really good cars, especially for the era. '90s muscle is some highly underrated awesome stuff.

This vette also isn’t technically stock either. This one has 4.10 gears. Stock C4’s 6 speeds came with either 3.42 gears or 3.45 gears Im just curious what the RPM’s are like on the highway doing around 70-75

@@chainsawmanny Sixth gear in the ZF six speed is .50 to one, which gives you a 2.05 final drive in sixth gear with a 4.10 rear ratio. My Camaro had 3.08 combined with a Tremec five speed with a .68 to one fifth gear giving me a 2.09 final drive. You're pretty much ready for the Bonneville salt flats with that kind of ratio, so if anything a 4.10 rear gear makes sixth gear more useful.

@@oscrthgrch7 idk I like the stock gearing ratio in my ZF. I can cruise along on the highway in 6th gear around 70-75mph and get around 23-24mpg. Car is plenty fast for me. I just have fun with it on the streets. Not going to to drag race it It’s just a driver for me

Nice vid man. I'm looking at C4s and have a question regarding the radio. When you upgrade stereos do they just disconnect the stock unit by the steering wheel?

jpratx you have to remove the original Bose radio then run an adaptor harness to the back of the car to use all the stock speakers and amp. It’s not super fun to do. I did it. You need to remove passenger seat.

@ Here's my Dyno Video of my 383 LT4 build if you or anybody else is interested. I didn't spare a dime cause I want to go do some road racing so I purchased the best parts money to buy for the build. Since the GM LT4 already has very light intake and exhaust valves, those were the only thing not replaced in the valvetrain and I got spares if anything breaks.

I just put 4:10's in mine. I kind of regret it. If I were to do it again, I'd go 3:73's. 1st gear wind's out way too fast and is almost useless. I've got the Hotcam, 100 shot of Nitrous, headers and 3" magnaflow all the way back. Ram Clutch & pressure plate. I do like the 6th gear ratio now, but I'm thinking I would've been happier with the 3:73's. Mine is an LT4 also. Were your gears 3:45's before you changed them and do you have any regrets on going to the 4:10's? Your car sounds great.

Thank you. I think the gearing with 4:10 is pretty good. I don't regret it. I got drag radials so first gear dead hooks with no problems. With a hotcam it would be even better being able to pull the RPM a bit higher. I'm pretty sure stock its 3:43 for all 6M cars. If I were running juice or a blower I would want 3:55 or 3:73.

Too steep of a gear I don't know why you guys always do that even a 373 is a little high of a gear unless you do. Drag racing I stuck with my stock 342 and the car rips

You are a lot braver than I am hitting a 100 plus in a 45 in town in a corvette. In Georgia that is a going to jail offense..........lol. I floor mine at traffic light take offs but I only get up to speed limit since police are very prevalent where I live and my torch red LT4 sticks out like a sore thumb.

What’s your camera setup and how did you get the Rpms there in the video ?

I used a go pro window mount in the rear. I was able to do the rpm/mph because I have OBD2. It will only work if you have an LS swap or a 96 or greater car. I used fusion obd2 scanner and recorded my phone while it was hooked up.
