I marvelled once, at the genius of a mechanic, when I was about 15 y/o. He knew exactly what the solution was over the phone. He explained how, after you fix the same problem 300 times, the solution appears to be from a brilliant mind or at the very least MAGIC. I'm getting that feeling after watching this video. Not to take anything away from Tony, but he's solved this problem, once before. 😀😁

What is the part that is under the driver side switch that has all the wires in it? Mine is melted and I can't find a replacement. Thanks

I'm not sure it has a name because it comes as part of the harness. You can get one out of a Ford Taurus, Tempo, Mustang, they're all the same.

if have power at where i should on all the ends, do i need to replace my window motor? i can hear the motor click a little when i push the up button, but that’s it.

Just picked up a beautiful 7.3 97 f250 and driver side rear window nor locks work. Did the ground test at switch and it checked out good. Bad window motor? Gonna watch your door lock actuator video next. Thanks for the video.

I would say bad window motor. They're very common for going out.

@@tonyscarcare5657 thank you. Just in case (havent watched yet) is it covered in video to fix the door locks? All locks work except for that same side that window motor is messed up on.

Hello Tony. I just had to do extensive work on my 96 obs rear windows. My issue was low voltage under load and the windows were very weak. I ended up installing relays in the doors and ran a new power lead. They get full voltage now and work great. It looks like im going to have to do the same with the rear lock actuators. Any ideas where the voltage drop would be? I figure the drivers switch panel and all the old wiring. Thanks for the video.

Well the only power supply they get is from the red/blue wire coming from the "window lock out" switch on the driver door master switch. So yes that would be the place to start metering the voltage. There is a splice somewhere that goes in three directions to the other three doors. Not sure where it is but could be a bad connection there. If the right front door is ok I wouldn't think the problem would be there. Did you replace the motors? They were not very good from day one. Thank you!

My rear window works intermittently. It goes down and up normal until it doesn't. Then it will not roll up. Then after a few seconds, it rolls back up again. It never has problems rolling down just up. Any suggestions? 1997 Ford F350 Crew Cab

Probably the brushes sticking in the motor. Don't roll it all the way down.....or if you do......immediately tap it back up to take the tension off of it. I call it relaxing the windows. Look up my videos on the 73 74 Mercury and the 80s Lincoln Town Car power vent window regulator. I explain what I'm talking about.

Lots of good info from your video. I have power or continuity to my passenger window but I'm trying to find out how to test to see if the switch is good. Any ideas?

It would probably be best to grab a test light and give me a call tomorrow and I can talk you through how to test it.

@@tonyscarcare5657 Thanks for replying. We decided to get a new motor, installed it and then found the switch was not working, cleaned up the contacts and it's all back together and working well. Thank you. It must be hard to answer everyones concerns in the videos.
