The IFMAR World Championship video from Team Trinity that was released after Team Trinity, Team Losi, and Team Novak won the IFMAR 2wd Off-Road world championship in Pomona California. Starring Brian Kinwald, Greg Hodapp, Gabe Boudreau, Brian Dunbar, Scott Brown, Matt Francis, Mark Pavidis, Gil Losi Jr., Masami Hirosaka, Team Losi, TLR, Team Associated.
Brian Kinwald won the 2wd Modified buggy portion of this race with his Team Trinity Powered, Team Losi XX-CR Worlds Edition Buggy, with a Novak Cyclone speed cotrol and Airtronics (Sanwa) 3P Caliber Raido. He edged out Masami and Brian Dunbar in the third leg to take the victory; his second worlds and Team Losi Racing first ever championship!
Brian's team mates, who helped him beat the worlds fastest drivers were Brian Dunbar, Greg Hodapp, Scott Brown and Gabe Boudreau. These five men, were the first to drink the world championship champagne for Team Losi. In a sport focused so much on the individual efforts, these men banded together to help win it all with the power of TEAM. They will forever be remembered in the realm of RC Racers as the "First" ones to take the championship from Masami Hirosaka of Japan and Team Associated and get Pops Losi his much sought after off-road world championship!

I truly miss these days of the TRUE Team Losi, Trinity AND THOSE Amazing Mods and World Tech 1700SCRC's and Novak and my 75mhz Airtronics 3ps. Loved all the Losi guys back then, Brian, Gabe and Greg H. Miss Losi Sr very much RIP, Pops. I still run Losi because I was always with them but it just isn't the same since the big H bought them out and when Losi Jr. Left to Kyosho its never been the same. This is my shout out to Bob Novak, Trinity's Big Ernie P. And the awesome Pops and Gil Losi. Brings back some epic memories.

I remember this race like it was yesterday! I am so glad that I was a part of this championship and while I watch the race, I can't help to think how lucky I was to ever even have a shot at winning the worlds myself. It is so hard to get to that level and then make the main. @19 years old, it was amazing!

Although I didn't win myself, WE WON the race collectively together for Gil Losi Sr, and the Team Losi Racing Team who had ZERO wins up to that point in the worlds. I remember a meeting weeks before the race with Pops Losi saying something to the tune of "I've spent millions to get you guys here; GET ME A @#$%&*G CHAMPIONSHIP!"

Big smile watching this. I owned this video on VHS when I was like 14 years old. I must have watched it a thousand plus times back then, because all these years later it still seems very familiar to watch.

I have the magazines from that race which were all the rage in 1997 and I had totally forgot that I had some of the top 20 fastest lap times. Greg was a stud there, but Brian Kinwald rue the day and we kicked Masami's butt...which is a feat in of itself.
