The action, the dunk, the lay up felt more exciting because there was a defense.. This was when I always waiting the Nba All Star, when me and my friends discussed who gonna win, Now NBA all star felt like street basketball or harlem globetrotter exhibition but in less acrobatic manner..

This game has some good plays that resemble today's beautiful 3 point game, especially from Glen Rice and Terrell Brandon. The commentators after the shot 10:02 say what was that? That is the standard of today's basketball.
@at21302 жыл бұрын
If people think that players in the past weren't capable of hitting Curry like shots they are mistaken. Teams barely even shot 10 threes a game they didn't have the greenlight to shoot from half court and didn't practice shots because they weren't realistic in the game. There was many great shooters that would go crazy if they played today..
@pCOCKPRO11 Жыл бұрын
They said that bc TB wasn't supposed to be shooting. The plan was to get Glenn Rice the record, so HE was supposed to be the only one shooting. It was like TB didn't care about the record.

@jixyana21457 жыл бұрын
m maj Nah!!! That's nothing but some kind of personal theory. Players before looking like slow because of the style of the game. It was not a fast pace & jump shooting game. Defense was also vital then. Rules was also different. Etc... etc...
@mmaj89827 жыл бұрын
J Ken personal theory? slow? these guys look slow to you? cmon cuz, and 2017 was fast? lol. no way, regardless of style/times/personal theories, it's not hard to see the difference. there's only a handful of guys now that could hang in the 90s, but try to pick a guy off that 90s floor that couldn't play today.
@jixyana21457 жыл бұрын
m maj So you are saying that players before were slow? There were lots of big guys playing back then. Of course big players will always be slower than smaller players. Don't forget in todays nba.. small ball era. Have you seen other pg, sg before? They were quick too man! If that is your theory saying like those people in the 80s and 90s were slow then i'd say those players back then a lot tougher and stronger than today who are bunch of weak/cry babies. Rules have changed. The style of the game has changed over the years. etc, etc, etc...
@mmaj89827 жыл бұрын
J Ken I never said the 90s guys were slow? in fact, I think they're faster than today. look at Malone!
@Israel-nb7ip5 жыл бұрын
Vin Baker was a legit 20/10 beast when he was in his prime. His problem was alcoholism which eventually took over his career. But he was a top player at his position in the era of the big man.

the Allstar Game really was much more competitive back then but the Allstar Talent every year is evolving to a higher level than it will ever be.. and honestly this game was whack! lol. and back then were these Guys were considered Allstars!? 33 yr Old Joe Dumars 34 yr Detlef Schrempf Christian Laettner Vin Baker Terrell Brandon Jason Williams Tom Gugliotta Eddie Jones and Chris Gatling? LOL seriously none of these guys wouldve made the allstar team in today's nba!! truth hurts!
@KM-mq1nv6 жыл бұрын
Peter Griffin If we're being honest. The biggest star today took home the bronze in 2004 olympics and the bronze in the 2006 fiba world championships. What's so great about: Marc Gasol Gordon Hayward Paul Milsap Deandre Jordan Kyle Lowry Kemba Walker Isaiah Thomas And I don't know where you got Jason Williams from he didn't play in that all-star game. And Dumars was a replacement for Mourning. Schrempf for Barkley. Gatling for Drexler.
@mturley84146 жыл бұрын
Peter Griffin a few of those were replacements!! The hole FUCKING league is whack now and boring as fuck.. Bunch of bitch as niggas taking games off complaining the schedule is too hard and they need too take games off!! Jordan didn't even take games off when he played for the wizards!!!! Bunch of DIVAS!! @holagovito Жыл бұрын
Detlef had a jumper. Gugliotta was pretty much Kevin Love. Eddie Jones was the first player signed to Jordan Brand I believe. One of the nicest players that never got the "Baby Jordan" tag. Vin Baker was solid. You were either born in 95, born overseas or was still playing NBA Live 95 when NBA 2K came out. Either way I was just as shocked to see Chris Gatling in the game lol
@UmbertoLenzi Жыл бұрын
@@holagovito gimmie a break. Born in 1979 ( not in the US). Saw all the 90's all star games and playoff games live. I know my shit. Your reply is hilarious. A jumper is what you need to get to the ASG? tell that to frank brickowski and a thousand other players with a jumper who didnt make an all star. Detlef was a nice player but at this stage he got there due to the team's success. Tom G is latter years kevin love, and latter years kevin love doesnt make it to the ASG. As for eddie jones, again, nuce player, but being signed to the jordan brand is not a requirement to get selected. His game and stats were not ASG material. Baker was solid for a couple of years but still a glorified tyrone hill.
