Quick question. Regarding wheels/tyres. any bumping/body scraping? Whats the tyre/ suspension setup on this car? Looking at getting this model...but no info on suspension setups as i would love bigger wheels......but dont want it bumping and scraping and certainly dont want a hard drive (want that riding a cloud feel lol).

Really enjoyed the casual introduction to the vehicle. I'm in BC and have one on it's way from Japan. Just one question for you: did you have any issues with the LCD screen during your time with the car? Was it easy to adjust to, being in Japanese? Thanks!
@Kingsoupturbo7 жыл бұрын
Hey there! thanks! the LCD for the temp control never blacked out on me. The TV display is actually a CRT TV for the Nav system! The trip computer you can find out some of the translations, mine blew the front main oil seal coming back from Vancouver, it kept flashing something in Japanese furiously, I stopped and low and behold, low oil pressure! My 93 was a lot easier to navigate, the 97 was pretty hard to figure out, outside temp control, audio etc, I found a translation on planet Soarer I think on what menu did what. Its pretty straight forward, other then its a pretty large car for RHD and is a bit different then a small one like a WRX etc. Are you getting a 2000+ car? nice!
@aspzafar7 жыл бұрын
I am getting a 1998 UCF20 (did not care for the complexity of the UFC21's air suspension) in pearl white (waited a long time for this colour), 32K kms (!!!), grade 4.5, no sunroof or nakamichi stereo, but with the LCD screen for the HVAC/audio. I figured it would be impossible for me to find something to my specifications in Japan (did not want the Japanese LCD), but the 4.5 grade and 32K kms won me over. Will be transitioning from a 2014 Mazda3 GT to this and I'm super stocked. The Mazda is nice, but lacks refinement. Thanks for the reply. Really enjoyed the playful and informative nature of the video - very candid and fun. Seems you really appreciated your Celsior :)
@Kingsoupturbo7 жыл бұрын
Nice!! that car should be mint! White is a better color then black for auction, I think mine was Hella-flushed on the OEM air suspension, it had some messed up stuff (I think LCD headrests etc), most should be 4.5 and ultra low k driven by older Japanese with the seat doily cover things! The Air suspension is not reliable, at the age we get these cars, and its ultra soft, coil is the way to go! Did you get the radar cruise control? Also there is a write up on Planet Soarer I think somewhere on which jumper to cut in the cruise control computer to let it set over 106 kph etc. I sure do appreciate the cars! it'll be a different experience then a small Mazda 3, you're heading to luxury town now Mister!
@aspzafar7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support, Mr! Do you think that the Pioneer sound system is that much of a downgrade from the Nakamichi stereo?

@sergeikuznetsov6697 жыл бұрын
Hey, man! I like your Celsior. What spring lengths and rates are you running?
@Kingsoupturbo7 жыл бұрын
Those are the Megan Coilovers for the 1994-1999 LS400, they decreased the spring rate and increased the stroke I think, a pretty reasonable ride quality and a lot flatter in the handling department.
@iliovecaRS6 жыл бұрын
Is it hard to install the coilovers because of the air suspension or is it reletivaly simple?

Very funny. You sound like you smoked a couple before you made the video. Very enjoyable. I just bought a 2000 LS400 but I had to pay tax on it and they gave me a book value of 5,000 u.s. dollars which I tried to dispute..I had to pay more than expected but the car needs brakes so now I might have to wait a little bit to get that done but I can't wait to really take it out in the road in power mode of course...

For a 97, that car was way advance for its time. I had a Celsior on my time in Okinawa. I didn't know how much it was valuable until I got back Stateside. I rather have that than my current whip, 08 Cadillac STS.

Mack124 it's a good car. But like every American cars, it's made with some cheap material. It's fast, 302 HP, great acceleration. Just got a ticket for going 112 mph 😕
@mackfar277 жыл бұрын
Mike P 112😎 lol so far mine has been reliable. I have the 8 cylinder, and I am scared to get mine up to that speed. Only because the engine actually feels stronger the faster you go rather than getting weaker.
@IndiaMikePapa7 жыл бұрын
Mack124 do you have the V or just 8 cylinder? I've been looking into getting an sts V or 300 srt8.
@mackfar277 жыл бұрын
Mike P I have the 4.6 North star motor. Smooth as silk. I could only imagine what the 4.4L Supercharged motor would be like. The 4.6 is plenty fast, but the V series is the X Factor. What I like about the 4.6 engine is that around town, the motor is extremely quiet and responsive. Will reward you with a nice little rumble every now and then, slightly entering into the cabin, but never over bearing. When you get on it, becomes just as loud as the radio in the car. Almost as if the radio automatically lowers the volume by itself, to allow the engine to sing.😎

When I heard coil over and cam shaft I immediately hit pause to write this and move on. The Ls400 absolutely doesn't need anything done to it with performance upgrades. Hate to see kids ruin classic's
@Kingsoupturbo5 жыл бұрын
The car had mostly blown air suspension from the previous owner, the coil overs are a very soft rate that replaced it, a much nicer ride quality then the super duper soft wallow ride it had, it was hardly hell-flushed. I fixed almost all of the poorly done mods it had from Japan to make it VIP extra cool thank you very much.

they were released one year ahead in Japan, late 97, 1998 for USA, common in lots of JDM models
@420daku7 жыл бұрын
This is a 1998 model actually with 5speed engine up until 1997 it was 4 plus the headlights are changed and a side indicator tells you that these changes were made after 1997 oh yea and the interior as well but yea good job on review just change the title it's misleading few people
@Kingsoupturbo7 жыл бұрын
Actually its a 1997, as the Celsior was 1 year ahead of the LS400 in the USA for the 5-speed and the VVT-i 1UZ and the headlight change, UCF20, they actually sold both the previous model 4-speed Auto and the new one as 1997 on Auction in Japan, but easy enough to tell with the HID headlights and Radar-Cruise (I just missed out on having it on this one!)
@thegame123ize6 жыл бұрын
Actually japan starts production of new car a few months before the actual year. yes it's a 1997 but it's late 1997=1998. Hope you get the point.
