@Chandlej1 The engine is actually very manageable compared to some that I've done, remember to keep track of all the parts and fasteners and it's not a bad idea to take some pics along the way to help for reassembly in the future. Good luck.

You wouldnt happen to know where I can get the water pipe that goes into the back of the head and a hose runs from the heater core to that pipe. It is about 2" in length and 3/4" in width? Im trying to do the same with my 94 civic but that is the last little part I lack. im not sure if they are all the same on the 1.6 liters and 1.5 liter. mine is a 1.5 liter. It is screwed in in the cylinder head left side of I believe it is the temp sensor. Im not sure if the pipe is a doorman product but the threads look kind of fine.

@Uticagreens I know of that problem as I got into the business at the end of that era. It is a lot different to do something for a living than it is to work in your garage on occasion with your buddies drinking beer. Thanks for the comment.

@ZlatanTDR I started wearing gloves about 10 years ago or so and I've been using them ever since. Working at a 'luxury' car dealer and having the washroom on the other side of the shop, it was much more efficient to wear gloves and take them off than to run across the shop every time I wanted to pull a car in or out. Flat rate can be a powerful motivator.

I use an impact as much as possible, as you say saves time and it varies from car to car how much of the bolts i tourqe. AND just want to say thanks, your earlier videos helped me with my confidence the first time i took an engine out and issasemled it down to just the block and put it back together again. It was a Subaru WRX that need head gaskets changed and belt,pump service. And it started on the first keyturn (Never felt so relieved :P)

Valve adjustments seem so simple and straight forward but for the longest time I was never quite sure I had them adjusted right. It's something that really just takes experience. You can show and tell someone how to do it but it doesn't really translate unless they do it themselves.

@upallnight888 I hear you and agree but it's not my car so there is only so much that I can do, I can suggest but I can't force people to buy more stuff especially if they don't have the money. FYI it's been about a year since I did this job and it's still going strong however despite the owners neglect.
@ericthecarguy
@ericthecarguy 13 жыл бұрын
@PIchillin456 Sounds like a control unit issue. Not sure how the circuit works but a good wiring diagram would be a big help as you would be able to study the circuit to see how it is suppose to work, in other words it would be able to tell you if their was some sort of control unit that could be tested for that problem. Check the forums for your car as well, you might come up with something. Thanks for the comment.

I have to thank you for what you do for me and every body else on car repair . i do look into your work when ever i do have a car to repair and your video's do save a lot of time and question on a lot of jobs. i have only taking a car to a shop one time in my life and what a mistake that was really . but without a thought now for years i have no worries on any thing needing to be fixed. Thank you hope you keep up what you are doing for the world. People really need info that can be understood and able to follow to fix there things that you do good in my opinion any way . Thank you and keep up the dirty job you do so well

@shishoromer You could have a buddy put a rag on the tail pipe while it's running and listen by the manifold for noise. ANY exhaust leaks before the O2 sensor will cause the mixture to be off so gas mileage will suffer would be the most notable problem not to mention the failure of an emissions test if you have them where you live.
