It would be awesome if you could ever post that I was born on that day and am interested in the solar eclipse also known as the dark moon of Aquarius because it is related to the goddess of the dark moon or Lilith

I was on a P&O ferry mid channel where we had clear skies, I was very lucky, right time right place along line of totality. Had three pints before totality, never forget the experience.

I wish I could find the footage from this eclipse where one could see the shadow of the moon traveling across the sea. It was extraordinary.

I was working at an Army Barracks and we were allowed to go out side and watch it! What an amazing Birthday gift! Everything went dark and The light started to come back. The light shown on a £1 coin. I was so skint! And I really fancied chocolate! That £1 coin bought me the best two choco bars of my life! I probs should have kept that pound lol

Now on B B C ONE Wales, seen for the first time in Britain in more than 70 years and live from Cornwall, one of nature's greatest spectacles a Total Eclipse presented by Michael Buerk. Vocals by Microsoft Sam. Most of the BBC Nations announcers declared their different scripts.

Stood on Cape Cornwall ahead of a bicycle LEJOG and just like 500 other intrepid souls saw jack shit , OK it went eerily dark for 2 minutes but it goes dark every day for much longer , it was a once in a lifetime opportunity and good old Blightys' weather conspired to deprive us of this phenomenally rare natural event Sods law as i recall an hour later the sun came out ,Anyone planning to watch the next and only one in 21st century , the date is 23 rd September 2090 so if you're over 25 today sadly you've very likely once again to miss out , to quote Bob Dylan ,' blame it on a simple twist of fate' .

From where I was living at the time of the August 11th 1999 eclipse I did see the partial eclipse (about 60% partial). I did have this programme recorded on tape only to later record another programme over the top. Although I missed the actual moment of the partial eclipse of March 20th 2015, as it was earlier in the morning, I did see the Moon's shadow. Sky News had a camera looking inland (and they showed it twice and in real time) and it was showing the Moon's shadow coming in. I guessed that it took at least 20 seconds to go from daylight to darkness, 2 minutes and 15 seconds during totality and another 20 seconds go from darkness back to daylight.

I believe that over where I was living at the time of the March 20th 2015 eclipse, it was about 80%. As I mentioned in my last post, I missed the actual moment of the partial eclipse but I did see the Moon's shadow. I did try the pinhole projection method to try and view the eclipse but with very little success whereas during the eclipse of August 11th 1999, I tried this method and had a clear image of the partial eclipse.

I tested out my own box projector a few weeks ago (no eclipse) and came to the verdict that even the slightest clouds might block the view of the Sun on the projector.
