These best cars/engines in open wheel history!

if you ask me, that´s kinda what Max did in Saudi in `21 just without a crash. Every Corner is on the limit, just breathtaking to watch!

or what Max did last year in Monaco (with no crash and pole) but honestly as an F1 fan I admit doing it with such an heavy stearing and a lot less compliant car is pretty insane. to me it was more Senna-esque than Verstappen-esque

Yeah, I keep saying that that would be the greatest lap in recent history if it wasn't for the wall tap

I miss these old champ cars. Looked like older F1 cars and had monstrous horsepower behind them. The new Indy still has good racing, but the designs just aren't the same :( I wish they hadn't fumbled the CART series so bad.

No effin way!!!! I had no idea this footage from ESPN with Page and Johnstone even existed!!! What a damn superb lap that was by Juan. The shot of him coming through the double right near the end, dead on the limit, and even going over, just for fun :) Unreal!! Great as always Mr. Champ Car. Keep it coming!!

This was the inspiration for a painting I did of the *FLASH* kissing off the wall. Thanks for uploading it, I’d only see the ESPN Latino clip.

Late 90s CART is best open wheelers series ever
@edgarteran1894 Жыл бұрын
the 90s and early 2000's was the peak of champ cars. The cars had about 900 horse power. During that time. Cart ran in the USA, Mexico, Canada, Brasil, Japan, Germany, England , Australia. The drivers at the time were almost from different countries. They were about 3 to 4 Americans drivers, The sponsors were foreign because of the drivers with big American sponsors. The races were seen worldwide. Paul Page was great. They had pit reporters. Parkstone was excellent as a former driver. We did have Lynn for a couple of seasons as the only woman in the sport as a driver.. Juan Pablo Montoya was borrowed from Frank Williams racing from F1. and racing for Target . Juan replaced Alex Zanardi, who went to F1 and raced with less success. We wish Alex good health since his accident. On a personal note, I had several times we interviewed him in Laguna Seca. I remember the time we started an interview on camera. and he stopped the interview and said. Guys. I will be right back. I promise. He kept his promise because he had forgotten his baseball cap with his sponsor on it. What class, gentleman, and he offer us some food and drinks (non alcohol) at the pad locks. Alex, I was a fan of yours, and God bless you. You remain in my heart. My papa rip always watched you on TV and saw you in person in Laguna Seca. peace to everyone.

These cars were awesome, beautiful looking and fast and produced awesome exciting racing. Just a shame with the split imagine seeing Zanardi at Indianapolis

Amazing video. Saw it multiple times with some latin language commentary, this with usual ESPN commentators of the time is 🔥🔥🔥 and has overall better quality. Those were the golden years of everything ❤

One of my all time favorite drivers. Very spectacular style. Great character. We don't have any of those in F1 anymore. They all look like boy band members now with their electric cars. Yawn. I gotta admit that Montoya got his ass kicked by prime Kimi Raikkonen at McLaren though.
