Se fosse num campeonato da FIA de hoje, teria excedido o limite da pista e teria que devolver a posição. Mas graças a Deus era 1996 e era a Cart que promovia!😂😂😂😂

I miss the CART series. As an F1 fan since 1993 and having started watching CART in 96, CART was the better product and arguably had a better depth of drivers towards the end of the century. I remember the Fontana 99 race vividly and losing Greg so young was terrible. I always think of him every 31st October. He was destined for huge success..

😂The Fia would rule as follows: Return the position 5 seconds penalty 3 place grid penalty for next race 2 points of penalty on the super license 😮

Congrats to Goodyear for kicking everyone’s ass in this race. They displayed the green. How do you penalize a driver for acknowledging the green flag?

Mears was and is a great sportsman and terrific champion 🏆. Even in loss he still really only has nothing bad to say, and only good things to the victor.

Jacques Villeneuve's win in 1995 was also the first win to the best of my knowledge for Ford at the Indy 500 since 1971.

I was at this race. Cold 🥶 as hell! 37 degrees at race time. Had on most of the clothes I had with me. Ironically, I had a #3 Valvoline T-shirt under it all.

They stole that race from Scott Goodyear. But what do you expect from USUC I mean USAC Had problems with that pace car all day..on that final restart it was never up to speed.

Best Indy 500 finish EVER. You can hear the crowd roaring. Wow, so exciting. Imagine being in the stands for this maginificent race? What was up with that idiot camera man switching to Mears' wife, at the most import part of the race? wtf!!! Major fail!!!

I grew up on the Indy 500 in the 70's and 80's, and hear how great the drivers were in those days, that may be true, but the racing now is light years better than at this this time. In this race the only two on the lead lap were Mears and Johncock. In 1984 Mears was TWO LAPS in front of the second place car. Last year's race at the line had 17 cars on the lead lap! Eight cars within 2 seconds of the leader!

Back when Cart was great !!! I remember watching this. Always felt they should have given the win to Herta , Alex bombs the corner goes off track and comes back out on the racing line and blocks Herta. Wasn’t a fan of either driver but in my view Herta got robbed.

I loved Zanardi. And maybe it was a legal pass at the time. But… he was just lucky that Herta saw him coming. This should have been a crash and it would have been on Alex.
