What a dear, humble man! May he RIP. Stuart Damon’s “Alan Quartermaine” was a fixture on GH for decades, and he played him expertly. Thank you to his family for sharing Stuart through “Alan” to all of us fans through the years.

I can't believe it took Stuart THAT LONG to win an Emmy...Ridiculous...He and Leslie Charleson (Monica) should've won dozens by now

The studio decides who to submit to what category. In the late 70's and early 80's, Stuart was being submitted as lead actor. Then in the 90's, it was as a supporting actor. While it may seem unfair, it meant that GH had two contenders for emmys in the actor categories with Tony Geary up for lead and Stuart up for supporting. It was to Stuart's advantage that he was put in the supporting category. (Every time he went up against Tony as lead, he lost.)

Oh my! What a wonderfully nice guy Stuart Damon is! Watch him talkng about his time making the British 60s TV series 'The Champions' on the DVD collection - he's great and so modest and genuinely 'nice'. He made The Champions 'magic' and I was hookd on him... ; - )

Yet another Emmy winner/nominee ABC Daytime has seen fit to show the door... what a crime. It's really too bad, also, that only 10 years ago this category was still reserved for men and women who truly DESERVED to be here - all 5 of these men were veterans of their respective shows for at least a good 8-10 years. I also like how Erika Slezak stood up and genuinely applauded her ABC colleague of so many decades - what a lady!

It STINKS that the mob has taken over GH. The NYPD could EASILY take down Jason and Sonny. Damn GH all to hell from shafting Stuart Damon.

His death has affected me as a person cuz he was such a great actor and the heart of the hospital on general hospital, and in all just a fun guy to be around from what I’ve heard, him being killed off was a huge mistake, if I could go back in time and keep Brian fons from firing him convince him look he doesn’t deserve that and he deserves a farewell send off like you guys did for Steve Hardy & Lila.

How do they decide who is supporting and who is a lead?
@richardcleveland69495 жыл бұрын
I wish they would get rid of the younger acting category. They have a drivers license at 18 and can but liquor at 21. Either change the age to 17 and under or make them in lead or supporting. Prime time Emmys have no age range lead or supporting. The Oscars have the same no age limit

He was NO supporting actor!! LEAD ALL THE WAY!!
@pxlbarrel2 жыл бұрын
Very true but submitting him in the supporting actor category it allowed both he and Tony Geary to win the Emmy. . Usually when Stuart was up against him, he lost but this gave him a better shot at it.

Alan wasn't a lead in 1998. The second part of the year he got much more screentime. Though Sarah Joy Brown's maternity leave gave lots of airtime to others, and he certainly benefitted from it.
