Miss Tennessee should have one. her gown was out of ordinary and she carried it so beautifully. She should have made a cut in Miss Universe if she had won miss USA.

I honestly thought Miss Tennessee was in it to win it! She had everything. The beauty, class, poise and was very relaxed and articulate. Anyway, its still a competition and its anybody's game to win at this point.

CA was truly sad when she placed third overall but would later re-emerge as Miss World USA 2000 and even made the semis at MW 2000.

1999 wasn't the year for Miss USA in Miss Universe. Miss U '99 were looking for exotic, island beauties.

How did NY win? Her performance at the MU was a complete flop. Tennessee would have placed in the top 3 standing neck and neck with Botswana.

The Grand Palace is just an abandoned theater in Branson now. I was there once, beautiful venue, awful seating.

Shemar, you were just a tad too risque for a host. Your interview with the top 5 was at times very inappropriate.

I love Ali and Julie. Their chemistry as commentators was amazing. I suggest that Miss Universe brings them back on the live shows!

@@the-drama-queen-keeilustre Yes look up "Miss USA 1991" and 1992. Debbie Shelton won herself in 1970 and commented 1991 with Barbara Eden and 1992 with Terry Murphy.

Host is awful and quite inappropiate. The way he was talking to Tennessee in the sit down question was wrong and smutty.

None of the girls could have won Miss Universe. CA was the best here, but at Universe her blond whiteness would have doomed her chances. Diversity?? Nope, blondes need not apply! Only brunettes, preferably of colour please, is the rule today. That's not very diverse!

Until I watched this video, I didn't know the 1999 edition of Miss USA was one of the least diverse batches in the history of the pageant. I couldn't recall a single African American or an Asian after watching the introduction of candidates. All of them were White and Hispanic.

@@aidenangola yeah, she is. I meant to say I couldn't recall any race other than White and Hispanic "AFTER" the introduction of candidates. If not for her inclusion in the top 10, I wouldn't be reminded there was someone of East Indian descent.

Why do you think the semis should be picked based on race? What a weird lens to look at the world. Back then, it was about merit. Now it’s all about token spots to appease prejudice fans like you fixated on race
