Are your power windows not working? If you checked all the fuses, and the power window still isn't working, it could be a bad switch, a bad motor, or bad wires. In this video, Len diagnoses a problem with the wiring at the door junction. Sometimes, wires could get pinched and broken where they pass from the body to inside of the door! He shows you how to find and fix a problem like this on any vehicle with power windows!

I've had 2 windows that didn't work on 2 different cars, and in both instances the switch had gone bad. In the second instance, the dealer couldn't find the problem, but I finally figured it out and fixed it myself..

Your repair is good. The problem I see, is, the crimping tool !! I have seen many flat type crimps just pull out and Like you pointed out, IF, you crimp too hard you can cut the wires. Invest in a V crimping tool. This tool puts a V crimp in to the butt splice and is OSHA approved. I can say that for a while it was a little difficult to find these V crimp tools but, now even Harbor Fright has them. They are worth the effort and the money to get them.

Yes the wear points, makes a ton of sense ! ( nissan navara d40 passeneger window wouldn;t work off the master, stripped linnings checked loose connecter wires only grabbed the hinge joint as an after thought ... window started working ,much cheers & like your no nonsense style !

Great video I have no power to the passage side of my Cherokee no broken wires. Drivers side works fine. My daughter put on the child lock on the passenger side and now the windows have stopped working any thoughts might have to replace the entire switch

I have a 2011 Camry Hybrid model. Had the rear passenger side window motor replaced, and now all windows work fine but that one... the control on that door itself works but the master up front doesn't... any ideas what could cause this? Thank you!

Is there a way to test those wires in between the door and car? My issue is my passenger side windows and side mirror don’t seem to get power. I can lock/unlock the door from the driver controls and the speakers work on the passenger side as well.

Had a 2006 Honda Accord, that The driver window worked but none of the others. They didn’t work from the driver’s control nor from their own window control. I found a work around on you tube and did it and it worked. I connected 2 wires by the drivers control with a 10amp fuse. I have always wondered how this worked, any ideas? Thanks...Jim PS.....the car had about 170,000 miles, this was in 2016.

I’m looking to buy a 06 impala3.5L 58419 miles for 3k. Have not seen yet but going tomorrow. Supposedly the windows and the radio don’t work. Idk if it’s related or two different issues. Any thoughts? I’m assuming fuse or relay. Idk yet. One owner, so good there and one reported accident, which it was repaired. Appreciate any feedback

None of my windows work but the rear driver side in my 04 Yukon, tested fuses and see no broken wires. Will replacing the master switch allow the rest of the windows to go down?

Good video, My 2022 Toyota Tacoma the shop changed the driver's door they installed the wire harness and now the 4 door's not working from the main switch, although they changed the main switch, what could be the problem?

I've got a strange problem with my left front passenger window ( my car is right hand drive, I'm in Australia ) and my right rear window, they both stopped working at the exact same time, both the drivers side and rear left windows work perfectly, my car is an 05, Subaru Outback,could you tell me where to start looking to sort this out please ?? Usually does this also affect the lock and unlock? I'm having the same issue for my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The driver side master switch only works for the two back windows and the driver side mirror that angles my blind spots. The passenger door locks and unlocks work and don't work at times and the button for the window going up or down doesn't work. I changed the fuses, and circuit breaker and still doesn't work. The wiring is the only thing I haven't checked. My father says it's the motor regulator. I doubt it.

Hello, I cut the wrong wire in my 2011 Ford Edge when trying to disable my door ajar warning. It was the driver door window wire. I’ve since cut the right wire and put the window wire back together but window won’t work. I changed # 1 fuse still not working. What could I do next?

I seen the wires in my car, and they weren’t torn apart but two of the wires are only exposed just not torn. Can that also be the reason why there’s no power going through? Switch is good and regulator and fuses.

I have a 2001 2 door Grandprix GTP that had drivers door switch connection problem so I changed the switch and while that problem was fixed my passenger window now won't work! Thought maybe a regulator was bad but when button is pressed it doesn't seem to pull from power like dimming of lights etc. Any ideas?

i have a honda crv 2011 UK model and all the buttons work on the master switch expect for the front passenger side window, it is neither going up or down, but the window open n closes when you use the button on the front passenger side door, what could be the reason for this to happen?

i have a 2014 VW CC and both the front and back passenger side windows aren't working. we checked the fuses and they're all good. we can't open the windows using the driver control switches or the doors' individual switches. we took the front door's switch panel off and it shows THAT window wasn't getting power. is it possible there's a pinched or broken wire in that door hinge that controls both the front and back passenger windows?

I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8. The two front power windows work but the two rear power windows do not work. On the passenger side rear power window it makes a noise but the window does not go up or down. The drivers side rear power window does not go up or down and does not make any noises. So i check the fuse and they are working. I made sure that the wires are all connected but I'm not getting any power to the wire. Where do I go from there?

My passenger side window will only go down. It will not return back up. I checked the wires in between the door and that wasn't the issue as there are no broken wires. I can hear the motor engage when I press the switch to lower it, but it's already all the way down so it can't go down any further, and there is no noise that implies activation when I try to raise it. In addition, the power mirror, one of the lights for the third climate control knob and the light for the clock have all stopped working as well. Is this a wiring problem in the dashboard somewhere?

@Flair Velocity no. It just randomly worked again one day and so I rolled it up and taped over the window switches. Sorry that I couldn't help.

Check fuses in fuse box or it could have a circuit breaker rather than a fuse....and the breaker may be bad. Find a diagram for fuse box, in owner’s manual or online or on the inside of fuse box cover to help locate fuse/breaker

Ugh! I have the same problem but I haven’t checked the power yet… I was wondering if the different wires effect different windows or if, like the video, one wire effects all of them (obviously, I’m verrrry new to all of this! Lol!!)… Any insight would be helpful 😊. Thanks, Samone

I checked all my fuses both in the engine and beside driver wheel. I checked the wiring from behind door panel to between door and dashboard as your showing. When I probed the power window switch with test light for power all the wires lit up except for the multi green-yellow wire . That's when I thought to check if there was a broken wire somewhere but I didn't see anything. This is a 2011 Buick Lacrosse and my driver's master switch stopped working. Any idea what the green-yellow wire does? I can't find any info.

good vid but I would prefer to solder a 1" extension piece between the two with some heat shrink on the joints. I don't trust those crimped on joints, especially in that particular situation.

I have a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. Afew years ago my passenger side rear window slowly quit working. I taped a piece of cardboard to it. I was unable to fix it on my own or afford to pay to have it fixed. I moved from California to Arizona in 2018. 1100 miles, I had to stop about every 30 or 50 miles to Re-tape it.....lol. I went through a whole roll of Duct Tape! LoL. Then my brother in law helped me. He took off my door panel and put a 2" dowel under the window to keep it up. Then this year the moter on the driver's side rear window went out..... more cardboard, No duct tape!!!!!!! My passenger side all around the window is messed up with tape residue I am UNABLE to get off. I tried paint thinner, goop off......it will Not come off. 😱😭😰

I wish mine was this simple. I have a nissan x trails. Relay, motor, regulator, wiring loom, switch and master switch all been replaced. Nothing will get my passenger window up! Itll go down fine just not back up. Ive taken it to auto mechanics no one can find an issue! Argh );

DARN I JUST LOST POWER TO ALL MY WINDOWS, I SAW A REAL MECHANIC GROUND MY AC COMPRESSOR RELAY ONCE AND AFTER THAT WAS REMOVED WITH A NEW COMPRESSOR, 3 YRS LATER MY A/C COMPRESSOR WAS NOT COMING ON UNLESS I JIGGLED THE RELAY BUT THE COMPRESSOR WOULDN'T STAY ON(THAT GROUNDING WIRE WAS TAKEN OFF WHEN A NEW COMPRESSOR WENT IN 3 YRS BACK), WELL I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY GROUNDING THAT RELAY AND WHEN I POKED A WIRE IN THE RELAY SOCKET, I GOT A SPARK AND THEN MY POWER WINDOWS GOT STUCK DOWN, NO FUSE TO CK BUT i CKED THEM ALL ANYWAY BUT THERE WAS A CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE POWER WINDOWS AND IT CKED OUT FINE AS WE EVEN USED A WIRE IN THE RELAY BOX TO CONNECT BOTH ENDS OF THE CIRCUIT BREAKER CONNECTIONS BUT NO POWER. I HAVE TWO IDENTICAL MODELS OF THE SAME CAR SO I COULD SWAP RELAY BOXES UNLESS THE WIRING IS MORE COMPLICATED THAN JUST UNPLUGGING THE RELAY BOXES AND SWAPPING THEM BETWEEN THE CARS, I WILL STUDY THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND HAVE A MULTIMETER AND TEST LIGHT BUT I FIRST NEED TO STUDY UP ON TROUBLESHOOTING CIRCUITS, ANY IDEAS ON THIS? THANKS, THE TWO IDENTICAL CARS ARE 2000 DAEWOO NUBIRAS, I SWAPPED THE DRIVERS SIDE POWER WINDOW MASTER CONTROL SWITCHES AND THE MASTER SWITCHES WORK FINE ON MY OTHER CAR AND STILL POWER ON THE PROBLEM CAR, I ALSO SWAPPED ALL THE RELAYS BETWEEN THE TWO CARS AND NO LUCK.
