I am convinced that most newer models are built so that we, as regular consumers, have to take them to a dealer or mechanic to have something as simple as a bulb/headlight replacement done by them and not done by the consumer.

great video but you can save some time by just folding those two side plastic covers back after you take out the bolts - no need to take the whole things off; also always a good idea to TEST the lights out before you put everything back together in case the connector isn't firmly seated or some wire manages to get broken during the swap. Just take a few seconds...

also, having just done this - there is 0 need to remove the very top pushpin OR the pushpin to the inside of the tire - just remove the 2 pushpin and the 2 screws on the outside edge of the wheel well and also remove the top 7mm screw that goes thru the top that he talks about. The other 2 have no bearing on anything, they don't prevent the bumper fascia from being removed. The bumper cover comes off easy and is very simple to put back on, those edge clips and tabs really do the job nicely. Take your time and you can leisurely get it dont in about 90 minutes

What a mess to replace ! This has to be done by someone who has the time and tools. Terrible to have to go thru all of this just to put in headlght pods.

I don't understand this Equinox. Mine has an access port inside the wheel well. You just twist it off, reach your hand in, twist out the bulbs and replace them. Really simple.

well the first time i heard that i have to remove the front bumper just to install a new set of headlights, i was very upset, but now after watching this video, i realize that is not that hard i always watch 1A Auto videos before doing any kind of job that i'm not sure that way i know what i'm getting myself into and i don't break anything i'm very confident i can do it myself just fine excellent video, you showed all the steps and all the important details thank you

We have changed the bulbs in ours and you DO NOT have to take the front bumper off... just take the inside cover of the fender off and reach your hand up in.

Do not use power tools to start a bolt they need to be inserted by hand first

Not all are like this. Some have a round cover and you dont remove the under well . My 2014 is like shown here but a few other videos are wrong.

The round cover in the wheel well is to replace the bulb, not the entire assembly as shown in this video

1. Had to replace a headlight bulb. 2. In the driveway with no lift. 3. Bought the bulb. 4. Found out I had to disassemble the front of the vehicle. 5.Took it to my mechanic, who did the job for about $140.00 6. Wrote a letter to GM to tell them what a two bit company that makes me pay $140.00 plus parts, to change a headlight bulb. 7. Some Equinox vehicles have a small door with a cover inside the wheel well . Take a screw out and reach through the hole to grab the bulb. Only some Equinoxes have that cover and hole depending which supplier supplied that plant. Whether you have that hole and cover depend son which assembly plant built your car. 8. Mickey Mouse!

To just change the bulbs all you have to do is take the front of the inner fender well lose

Or you could have taken off a few small bolts on the fender liner pulled that back and reached up inside and changed it in about 15 minutes like I did...

All that to change the assembly or the change a highbeam bulb, rediculous. I have a 2008 Hyundai Entourage. To change the assembly or change any bulbs, it takes me 20 min. I remove the plastic cover over the radiator held by those pop connectors, then two bolts. Pull forward on the assemly, then there they are, all the screw caps with the bulbs inside. I have to replace my wifes lowbeam bulbs on her 2015 Equinox today, no problem, but I dread when she needs her highbeam bulbs replaced. Going to have to start saving up to have a mechanic garage do it when it's time. Way to go GM, great design. NOT!
