Ep.72 [K-STAGE] The Musical “Here, Pihwadang”
A new “faction” historical musical set in the Joseon Dynasty is making headlines, with “faction” referring to a genre that combines historical facts with fictional storytelling. K-Stage’s first historical musical of 2024 is "Here, Pihwadang" based on the first novel starring a heroine that was written during the Joseon Dynasty, originally titled “Parksijeon.” It tells the story of three women - Gaeunbi, Maehwa, and Gyehwa - who are taken by Qing China during the Manchu War and later returned to their homeland only to face death for losing their chastity. The title “Pihwadang” means avoiding danger in Korea.
The story of these women is set in the backdrop of the Joseon Dynasty in the 17th century, a tale of courage, hope and determination in the face of great adversity. Get ready to be inspired by the story of these brave women.

조선시대를 배경으로 한 팩션 사극 뮤지컬이 화제다.
'팩션(faction)'은 역사적 사실(fact)에 가공의 이야기(fiction)를 더한 문화예술 장르.
2024년 [K-STAGE]가 선보일 첫 번째 사극 뮤지컬은 바로 "여기, 피화당". 조선시대에 씌여진 한국 최초의 여성영웅소설 ‘박씨전’을 소재로 한 뮤지컬이다.
17세기 조선을 배경으로 하는 이 작품은 병자호란 때 청나라로 끌려갔다가 고향으로 돌아왔지만, 정절을 잃었다는 이유로 죽음을 강요받는 세 여인 가은비, 매화, 계화의 이야기다. 제목의 피화당은 '화를 피한다'는 뜻.
역경과 시련에도 굴하지 않고, 어둠 속 작은 빛으로 글을 써 내려가며 희망을 전하려는 여성들의 감동 스토리를 만나보자.
