Any updates on this engine build? I'm taking delivery of a jzx100 mark ii this weekend. Very tempted to go a similar route since I have a good set of 1jzgte non vvti rods sitting around.

If you put a thicker head gasket on George it drops the compression a little 🤙🏻

Thank you. I tried but I just can't find any for the engine. Its not the same as the non VVTI it the turbo VVTI.

I’ve read a big thread on it being done, might have been on a supra forum, but of course the info is old as are these engines now, I guess manufacturers stop making parts eventually. Might be worth asking the driftworks boys.

Do the vvti gte conrods not fit the ge vvti? I see you used non-vvti so just curious, they seem harder to find than vvti.

I’m looking into buying a single turbo 1Jz Mark 2 and I’m worried about the parts. The mileage is good but the engine worries me. Would I be able to take GTE parts and fit them to the GE?

Is there any differences in the head and block in the ge-gte

Yes. Everything about the head is completely different. Block itself is very much the same as far as I am aware apart from the provision for the oil squirters and oil feed isn't there

did this particular 1jz already have coil packs or a distributor? was wondering how difficult it'd be to do a turbo conversion on a 1jz that had a factory dizzy. Also did you ever think about doing a 1.5jz build? Keep the head but use a 2jz block so you get the 3 litre displacement

Hey is it true 2jzge exhaust manifold and gasket matches 1jzge vvti and non vvti head? This means 2jzge turbo kits should be direct boltons?

2jz heads are bigger (either vvti or non-vvti), I'm not sure if there is a proper flow can be achieved on a 1jz head

@@idreessahmed4954 I think it's not about HP but torque. You need good tunner to try and limit the torque.

I am not sure about this. As the head is the same as the 2JZGE VVTI I would say no. Best way would be to compare head gaskets.
